Good points plus you read here about the issues people have with charging etc. Ferrari have never been particularly good at their electrics which also for me that leads to lack of confidence. In both my 812s warning lights etc. quite often - why in this day and age when brand new Chinese companies have amazing tech and many of them are new companies - take Xiaomi for example. Even the response of Ferrari with the Amalfi steering wheel having buttons is a half baked response. They screwed up and are now offering replacement steering wheels to existing owners of other cars - who are extremely thankful. I’m not sure why - the cost of replacement won’t be small and Ferrari, given their margins should be doing this for free, taking back the old ones and bringing them up to the new standard and re-using them. Ferrari have the margins to look after their customers but will never do that. So I agree with Harry and also Caerulus trust is an issue and for me, at least, is totally gone and the rabbiting on about heritage is meaningless to people like Vigna who only cares about keeping his hand deep in our wallets.
What's (almost) incredible to me is how Ferrari is able at the same time to lose its (highly mechanical) heritage and screw up the electronics high tech. Vigna comes from the high tech, so it's easy to understand he struggles to capture the spirit of Ferrari, but that under his leadership they're able to release crappy electronics is amazing.
The electronics are not crappy. The graphics are state of the art best. They actually got most of it right. It’s a 1st generation that will be refined with time. The driving experience is off the charts. Fit and finish are light years ahead of older Ferrari’s and most cars. Yeah- their paint can be off- a forever problem. People put up with these imperfections because the entire experience is so good. The stock market values the company so highly because they get so much right. If you want a higher degree of reliability buy a Porsche. Of course they don’t feel as special. Their owners actually drive their cars and hard. Both marks have their place.
