I bit the bullet and ordered the Morimoto taillights and paid the extra to overnight them for a quick install. Everything was quite easy and the rear grill did not need to be removed. I was nervous about that because the bumper is perfect and I would be clumsy enough to scratch it.

    Now for the ASTERISK*

These do not work with the Euro spec cars out of the box. The factory rep I called searched for a sketch provided by another owner with a pin diagram, however it turned out the same as the factory US model, so I was on my own.

After hours of trials and testing different pin combinations, I realized (and suspected in the beginning) that the harnesses simply will not work due to the unique wiring configuration. Mine is unique in that the outside lights have the combo brake/tail light with the turn signal in the inner ring. The inside lights are rear fog lights with the reverse in the inner ring. So the Morimoto plugs accommodate the "blank" contacts in the US spec harnesses and the Euro harnesses are in different order and have no blanks. So, this required me to cut off the factory harness plugs and rearrange the wiring to match the Morimoto plugs.

The advantage of the rewiring was that now I had full flexibility on what lighting pattern I wanted, so I was able to re-create the factory Ferrari pattern using the Morimoto lights. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I didn't really like the dual light setup of the Morimotos as it looks too aftermarket for me. Also, I think having the outside lights lit for the taillight/brake only makes the car look much wider at night. I then used the inner lights for the rear fog (brake option on the Morimotos) and the reverse in the center ring.

I'll be sure to post a pin pattern soon for anyone else who wants to install these on a Euro car. Mine is the Italian version though, and the English version is a little different, so the best bet is to test each contact in the plug before you start cutting.

Good morning... Can anyone post the pin positions or wiring for Morimoto LED Taillights either like

DiSomma6 stock flashing or like the Morimoto double flashing turn signals - this is for a 2001 360 Euro version. Thanks

What do you mean by double-flashing? I will post a pin diagram or at least an illustration shortly.

Double flashing: The Morimoto wiring engages both lights on each side when you put the turn signal on…stock only engages the outermost light. Thanks for the response.

Morimoto has 20% off right now for Black Friday. I love them on our 430, so just putting the word out in case some of you are on the fence.

Has anyone installed the morimotos with a led 3rd brake light? Like the one from scud ing Swiss? I like the look of the morimotos and can only find the third brake light elsewhere?

I just did the Scuding 3rd brake light and Morimotos on my 2007 F430… and got the F1 error. The 3rd brake light was fine until I added the tail lights. Given Joe’s success on his 2008, I am suspicious something changed between ‘07 and ‘08.

Morimoto hasn’t responded to my email… I am (painfully) accepting I need the No-F1 box from Scuding Swiss and should hopefully have it this week.

Zero issues. Bought the third light directly from scuding Swiss and have been running this combo for at least a year.

argh!!!!!! I wish there was something conclusive. I have a feeling Morimoto is giong to tell you it's the 3rd brake lights fault, and scud ing swiss will tell you it's the morimotos!!!!

I have always had good experiences and support from Stef @ Scuding Swiss, so I am pretty sure Morimoto isn't doing what Scuding does to avoid this in their products (just a guess).

Regardless, as long as the No-F1 module resolves it, I'll be happy. It will be nice to never need to worry about being stranded due to a lighting issue.

TL;DR: Be prepared to purchase the Scuding Swiss No-F1 module - results seem to vary without it and Morimoto is of no assistance.
    ---
Morimoto has been very hard to work with. Several emails to them went unanswered over the course of 3 weeks and 2 phone calls to tech support resulted in a commitment for an escalation that never happened until this email today. Multiple agents there told me they are almost a month behind in replying to emails.

Finally got this note back today:

    Hey Aaron,

As far as I know, the only way to get rid of the F1 gear box error is by purchasing a module thru a 3rd party provider. Unfortunately, I don't have any specifics about that module, but if you get on the Ferrari chat forums, you'll see the talk about it. This is where we learned about that piece.

    Travis @ Support
I replied with my frustration that they expect their design issue to be solved by needing to spend another $200 on the No-F1 box from Scuding Swiss (which I have installed and solves the issue). They should at least mention the possibility of needing this when making the purchase.

Travis replied by just saying "I'll go ahead and close this out."

At least they look nice once working.

Hey @DiSomma6, sorry to bother. But, did you ever get around to creating that illustration?

    Thanks.

I'm sorry, I completely forgot. I need to replace one of the lights so when I do I will make an illustration and post it. I should tackle that in the next few days.
