When they said VER being investigated for safety car infringement, I immediately yelled "If anyone gets a penalty it's Piastry!"

I think the conditions, the VSCs and SCs all played into the 10s vs 5s. He definitely deserved a penalty!

I cannot fathom how all the strategists didn't think there would be a SC, VSC, red flag given the conditions!

As posted here on Ferrarichat. I was hoping he might make the podium.

After first Q3 run, I thought it might be a Ferrari front row... Hoping Austria wasn't a fluke.

Nothing like listening to Lando act like he won on skill, instead of Brit prejudice. Max of course understands how Oscar feels.

I will never cheer the b.stard again.

Only Piastri fans would’ve batted an eye had the penalty been five seconds.. It would have created a better race without question and muted the concerns regarding partiality. Such an easy decision.

Haha, No one but Uncle Max couldv'e kept it flowing w no wing in the windy dry in Q, but no wing in the wet -- he's lucky [and skilled] he finished!!!

Highly amusing, great for Hulk!!!! Tough for Oscar, all for him to win WDC.

Yeah that's the part that annoyed me too. I'm friends with a few Norris fans though and they're annoyed that Norris didn't win on merit. That gap Piastri pulled after overtaking max was insane. Luck was against him with the SC, and he made it worse himself.

You are too emotional: A win is a win, and Norris isn't the first one to inherit a race.
What was Norris supposed to do ? Go on the podium, take the mike and refuse the win?
For his team he had to put a brave face and accept what happened, which had nothing to do with him.

True but Hulk kept it on track and was smooth. Utterly his style. Charles was tossing the car around a bit. If you dont stay on track you lose out. Just ask Max. The rain master was Oscar today. Not Max, Charles etc. Spa might be very very interesting with this lot on the grid if its wet lol. Some serious 'professionals' did not fare well in the rain at Silverstone yesterday.
Mixed conditions made it interesting yesterday. If it was dry I think Mclaren were to be 30+ seconds ahead.

Piastri's erratic braking vs Russell's non-erratic braking under safety car

    Piastri:
Lap 17, OP braked from 208km/h down to 50km/h in 50 meters.

Lap 21, OP braked from 216km/h down to 52km/h in 52m.

Penalty my backside lol. He has stated he did it for 5 laps. Horner so proud Im sure. Max might need to learn to judge relative closure as others have stated in the press. Max is responsible for not over taking and Oscar was not just doing this to create an issue.

From what I've read, there's a general negative view of the way Norris treated this situation. Some calling it "selfish" in taking all the credit for "the win" while never acknowledging that Oscar would have won if it wasn't for the penalty, which many view as "questionable".

Norris was just waaaaaay too happy about it all.

This was my opinion when I saw the 10 seconds. It was the stewards saying "sorry kid but you ain't winning today". The entire race was a gimme for Norris at that point. All Norris had to do is glide home.

Now you could take that one more level and say the stewards said: "sorry kid but the Brit is winning today". I won't, but its how it all looks.

It destroyed what could have been a really good race between the two of them and in fact decided who would win at that point.

Yes, you can do that to keep the tyres warm when behind a safety car, but not on the release lap.
When the lights on the safety car are switched off, the first car is supposed to progressively increase speed until the safety car leaves the track, and then lead the field for an orderly restart.
This isn't the time to put extra heat on the tyres by braking and re-accelerating, which is not only confusing for the followers, but also dangerous. Piastri was sending the wrong signal and aborting the restart. Lucky Max didn't ram his car !!!

No he did this for 5 laps. Rain and cool temps. Braking to warm them is nothing new. Not at all. The lights were actually deactivated late.

I'm still waiting on Norris's F-bomb penalty during his post-race interview.

The only thing I've seen is SkySports apologizing for the incident.

"No one is above the law!" If your going to hold an F1 driver accountable for swearing on live TV, then anyone swearing on live TV should be penalized.

    Biased stewards? Naaaaawh........

Of course he was happy. Weren't ROS & VER happy when they undeserved won WCs due to HAM bad luck?

In sport it's not always the best that win. They just win more often and consistently than the rest.

Max had low down force, virtually no wing for Q, as Palmer reiterated multiple times, this is an impossible setup in the wet. His 180 was amazing car control not becoming a 360.

It does qualify. Remember Germany 2019 when Bottas spun and let the car crash into the wall but Lewis spun in the same corner and drove out of it?

Since it's Lewis, does that qualify as car control?

Radio communication between drivers and their pits has become a cry baby contest. Screaming and yelling about "this guy did this or that, etc." makes them look like children running to daddy to complain about the kid down the block. They have plenty of stewards and plenty of cameras...let them do their job. The drivers should just shut up and drive. If a driver wants to make a complaint about another driver, let them do it after the race and in person to the stewards. The pit walls are watching the cameras...if they want to complain in real time to the stewards, that's fine, but spare the viewers from the childish rants from the drivers.
