Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sorry not a Ferrari, it's a Porsche. It's an outside car as my garage is full with my Alfa project(stalled) and boxes of stuff from my son moving back home(don't ask!). However, it is under a cover the majority of the time, not much sun exposure. I've been pretty good with wash/wax occasional polish/clay etc., could do better, though.

See the pictures, I will try to get better pics once I can pull out of the garage. Note the cloudy spots in the 2 areas in the rear. There were others which I was able to make disappear with hand polishing but not these. I will try my porter oscillating polisher when I can get to it, maybe that'll do it. Do you all think this is oxidation or possibly from the cover rubbing? I kind of think it's the latter because oxidation is not fixable with polishing, and it did get better with polishing. The rear of the car is the only place I see this, nothing on doors or front of car.

The other picture is my Boxster S script, it was broken in a couple spots so I removed it. Worked on it for awhile with Goof Off but really didn't do much given all the foam on there. Techniques/products to help with quicker removal?

Lastly car covers. After some pretty expensive covers with soft insides failing way too early I went with a quality waterproof cover that is unlined. Good fit but is definitely causing small scratches on the rounded edges of the car and possibly the hazing. I like this top but wonder if there's something I can put under it across the hood and the rear to protect those areas from future scratching. Maybe a couple pieces of felt or other materials?

Repost the pics with a far away shot, then a closer one. Can’t tell what I’m looking at.

The convertible roof and paint looks like there has been sunlight causing exposure damage to the clear coat from the photos. High points look like wear from the cover rubbing on the paint. Polishing maybe too late, best to get a professional detailer to look at it in person as they can give better advice when inspecting in person. If you’re lucky some paint touch ups might save it…

New pics. Also got the script off and glue removed but still see the script after polishing. Guess I’ll have to install a new script as sanding would be needed. Sorry no additional pic of it at this point. I was able to improve the cloudy spots with medium cut but not much. Maybe sanding or something more abrasive, prefer to stick with doing by hand with something more abrasive.

It looks like the clear coat is coming off. I’d take it to a reputable paint shop and ask them what the best thing to do is. I’m thinking respray.

Car covers will damage your car as evidenced by all the swirls you have. Doesn't matter how expensive the cover was. If it was outside, the cover is constantly moving (wind, breeze, etc.) so basically you are rubbing the car constantly over months years This could cause the erosion of clear coat which it appears you may have done.
