Look for a 3 pin plug coming from the ECU on both sides.

I had the same issue, my car would stall when I put the clutch in to come to a stop, just died, then fired it up like nothing happened, I cleaned the throttle body's , MAP sensors, still happened again, I read a post on this site about the air idle bypass screw setting, checked mine , they were closed, opened them up to 1-1/2 turns , been running like a champ ever since...

Thanks - found it tucked right away and out of sight. That should be the easiest upgrade ever!

    Ok, the latest episode…
Today I switched out the battery for a nearly new, similar rated and fully charged unit. I plugged in a 12V digital meter into the cigarette lighter unit and started her up. She immediately went to life and of I go, recording 13.8V. As I drive, the volts drop, admittedly with Aircon running and in stop-start traffic. 12.8V, 12.4V, 12.2V. I drive for about 30 minutes and head back to my shop as the traffic free’s up, voltage returns to 13.6 and drops the. again to 12.4 while waiting for my garage door to open. I connect to a trickle charge and in sub 15 mins the charger is in maintenance mode.
Ignoring the possibility of a faulty volt meter, what do you think? Normal? A bad or poorly connected ground strap? or requiring a full set of positive and negative cable changes, as suggested above? Or…?
Oh… no engine shutdown in the 30 min run. So that’s good - I think.
    Thanks for tips and suggestions!

    Alternator on its way out?

@m.stojanovic Should the 348 charge normally at idle?

Usually the Battery warning light comes on if the wiring to the alternator is compromised. I had an issue with the red "sense" wire on the alternator and got some wild fluctuations on my cigarette lighter voltmeter. I believe on the 348, the wire doesn't have to travel the entire length of the car (like a F355), but is a jumper wire on the alternator (unless you have a very late model 348... in which case it's more like the F355). See the short red wire in the diagram below.

Do you know if you have one or two ground straps on your alternator?

So,,, I guess there’s a reason why they had me down as a rookie member!
I tried to follow the links to suppliers noted later in the post; alternatorparts.com and Holcombe - but no luck with active links. Didn’t think to search the part numbers ‍♂️ from the start of the post.
Now on searching the part numbers, I can find the Regitar brand but not the USI. Though I’m not sure that is a huge issue. Anyway, seems like I have the info I need for a rebuild project.
    Thanks!

"alternatorparts.com" is a very good supplier. Why don't you just go to "alternatorparts.com" and then search for parts there by selecting the alternator brand (like Nipondenso or Ac Delco) instead of trying to use some broken links?
