Lol. It happened to two couples years ago.

My sister and her husband were visiting our uncle and aunt for one night. The ladies retired early, the men had a few more drinks. My brother in law eventually said Good night and retired...into the wrong room and bed!

He realized within seconds and scuttled off, thankfully without awakening our aunt!

The A6GCS (no.37), chassis #2066, the very first Maserati I´ve brokered to its current owner 21 years ago! I am always happy when I see it again!

Actually not dirt, in the old days they had sand traps, well named because they entrapped you no matter how hard you shovelled it. Of course getting tow truck help meant game over, disqualification. Many remember a driver in the fifties, in black tie, shovelling forever, to no avail, Rubirosa, I think.

In recent decades the Le Mans organisers went to gravel but that caused punctures so now they use rounded gravel stones.

I do believe in that nanosecond of extreme stress, on survival mode, the driver went for the gravel thinking it would help smother the fire.

I will speak with him this week, a Japanese colleague put us in touch.

Any idea what caused the fire? hope the damage wasn't bad. That is quite the scary video of 151/4!

The car sat for 5 years, was sold only recently so perhaps a dried up hose split or a carb hose came undone?....I will ask.
