This is a deeper question than you may think, as these sizes are being phased out. The actual question is “who is still producing tires in these sizes in 2025?”.

Folks will tell you get the PS4s, but the fronts are going to be NOS at this point, not fresh out of the mold. They’re only currently making the rear tires.

Be careful out there. A dealer might say they have tires for you, but they might also be two years old at this point.

I highly recommend going to each manufacturer’s website to see what *they* say they’re still making.

I recently Dec 2024 got some stock size within a few months date of manufacture PS4 s one axle and PS5 s on the other .

I have them on my Porsche highly recommend. We are in the U.K. / Europe

It matters a bit , when a ran Bentley GT ( 600hp - 200mph ) Pirellis Pzero B spec were the factory tyre but they were twitchy when cold and damp …..6/12 months in the U.K. .
Consensus from forums was switch to Michelin PS s what ever number was current . It was like night + day difference in grip and confidence.

A lot of car forums rant / rave about Michelin PS what ever number ? As said inc Porsche .

Suspect the manufacturers do a deal with a supplier , said supplier sure messes around researches compound and side wall stiffness to suit when the deal is signed .
But I guess it all comes down to money big bucks in the end .
A few yrs down the line a rival pops up with a superior tyres mid time cycle . Factory still fit the original deal tyre Pirelli P zeros which has been superseded by the new kid on the block in this case Michelin PIlot sports .

Doesn’t take long for disgruntled owners on OEM s to go to social media whinging ….and swap to the Michelin PS s .

That’s where we are today .

I have those on there now but they are 10 years old! No longer available in those sizes in Australia either.

I’m being told the go to for our stock size here now is the Michelin Primacy.

Thanks for the tips guys, a topic worth discussing every few years for sure.

(IMO) you can’t be ruled by what’s available in your market with a car like the 348, you need to be willing to special order tires from overseas. I generally use the UK websites (as I’m an English speaker) as a definitive source, but you might be better off looking on each tire manufacturer’s home market site. Again, the key is not what’s on the shelf, the key is what’s being made. The realities are grim.

Yes, I noticed that. 255/45/17 not available in Pilot Sport 5 and Pilot Sport 4 no longer in production in that size...

Only Michellin option is the Pilot sport 5 on the front and Primacy on the rears...Not keen on mismatching, not good for my OCD.

Would you guys consider going to a slightly different width or height to open up some more options?

Pilot sport 5 can be done in 215/50/17 front but only 245/45/17 rear, slightly narrower.

I don’t think these are fresh but I’m happy to be proven wrong. I think Longstone hoards them when Pirelli does a run and then doles them out.

Yes, but not in the way you’re thinking. And I certainly wouldn’t put on skinnier rears.

You could do what I did and widen the factory wheels. I have two sets, one of which I’ve widened to 8” and 10” on which I have 235/45s and 285/40s respectively. This opens up two options — a continental and a nitto.

    Those certainly look nice.

Plot twist…They stop making the wider tires and start making the sizes we need again haha.

Before I switched out to 18” Augment Wheels I had updated the original wheels with the Firestone Indy 500. They were way better than I expected and I’m missing many of their characteristics on the Pirelli PZeros I put on the 18s.

Before any “ modifications “ to wheel size , tyre sizes that differ from the manual I would consult your insurance Co first .

Suspect they would take a dim view of extending / widening the original wheels ……just saying .
