I get annoyed when I get a call and carplay takes over the screen. I do get annoyed choosing a song in spotify using the haptics. Buttons would be better. But 95% of the fine. Doesn't bother me at all.

That's part of my startup procedure. Auto off, auto stop start off, radio off, bumpy mode on. Every. Single. Time. Would be nice if we could just set defaults...

i thought 296, because it's a hybrid, was exempt from requiring auto start stop - does it really have that for the performance or quali modes in EU/NA cars?

i always wondered what all the fuss was about, i think middle east cars (as far as i can tell) don't have ADAS features like lane keep, so never had a need to turn them off! wonder if that's the case in other markets too.

On the other hand, my AC does default to full arctic setting every time i turn the car on, if anyone knows how to make the car remember a less dramatic fan speed setting on start-up please let me know!

i saw on one of the Amalfi reviews that there's an ADAS hard button of sorts on the new steering wheel- will probably make it a two-step job to turn it off job like Porsche.

With a 296 AF- The only requirement is to go from auto mode to manual. The others are a non issue. My radio does not go on at start up- although it does on my 812GTS which also requires me to turn off the auto stop/ start.

    The most minor of annoyances.

did you guys see the weight difference between the c8 ZR1s vs the 296 Speciale?
Curb weights (all fluids), 3400 lbs for the Ferrari and the Corvette is projected to have a curb weight of 4000 lbs!
(the Zr1X is projected to weigh 4200 lbs)

I think Ferrari has done an admirable job of controlling the weight on these cars. The one that surprises me is the Lamborghini vs the SF90. The Lamborghini weighs several hundred pounds more and has a carbon construction, imagine its weight with out!

Amazing that 4200lbs can mover to 60 under 2 seconds. Apparently- Enough power can make anything feel light assuming it’s accompanied with the proper suspension and brakes.

Does someone has pictures of the 296 Speciale Piloti other than red (blue, black, silver) and can share?

You people should stop using the 1 ft roll-out. It is definitely not a 2 second car to 62 miles (not 60), without a roll-out. The LaFerrari achieved 2.4'' with a proper measurement back in the day. The ZR1 should be there or thereabouts.

I was reading through a great old Fchat thread where a member weighed older Ferraris (up to 458). Towards the end of the thread (which I wish was still going because it was great) he weighed a Porsche 918 and it weighed only 3674 pounds. I think that’s just remarkably light given the complexity of the car and the fact it was built of 10 years ago. Probably only 150 pounds more than a really world Laferrari (I’m sure members here could verify that).

And also improvements in tires. There must be an inflection point. I imagine the Speciale will drive very well indeed. The standard 296 is really in a class of its own in terms of how it drives. I can see someone arguing thus there isn’t much need of a Speciale, but I think they will find a way to improve each element by about 10%.

The Speciale is about the same weight as the 992 GT3RS....that is amazing considering the hybrid.

Also, spoke with 2 GMs (we have 2 dealer relationships) and both told me that they don't yet have pricing on the 296 S...or the options. One mentioned that they are concerned about MSRP pricing and cancellations.....especially given tariffs.

I have a feeling the pricing will be outrageous given the environment. Ferrari is going to push it.

You're comparing dry to wet weight. Add 150-200kg to the speciale number.

It's a novelty if you're driving A to A or only once a week. If you are driving to work and then need to leave the office, turning it on 8-12 times a day... it gets old, quickly. For me work/home, court 1-3x, lunch, bank, that's a typical day and 8+ starts.
