Not really, anyone can buy a new Ferrari these days and how you are treated has everything to do with your dealer. Ill spare you with how many cars I've bought and other events I did with them. If you are happy with your dealer then great for you.

I’m sorry to hear that. That’s strange; especially if you already have a presence with them. What country are you in?

US and Im not going to name them but I'll tell you they've alienated many others. Some were bigger customers, they just dont get it.

I’m wondering the underlying issue. If even monetary standing is irrelevant to them, sounds like a deeper problem; perhaps not even related to corporate.

I dont think its corporate, I believe they are just in over their heads at this location and scramble for a living. Unprofessional, lack of salesmanship, no idea how to cultivate, nurture and maintain relationships. Weak communication skills, poor follow up and limited attention to detail. A couple of my friends are still there but they are at the highest level and get catered to, the rest have moved on to other dealerships or brands.

Weird for you. Not for others. Clearly lots of people find this a total absurdity. I still struggle to see how a passenger can’t move slightly to see the speed unless they are a child or midget. I’ve never been unable in a passenger seat of a car not been able to look over or lean a bit to see speed. I don’t see the issue at all.

I see. So you don’t want to pay for the premium of these options now but want the feature now. Well I think you’re in luck since the passenger display should confer very little to price of a used car as it is a low value item in reality. Zero performance advantage.

This is unhinged. Why are you so worked up over this option?

Ha ha--good one there. Yes I'm off the chain and out of control with the topic.
I still haven't heard anyone declare why it is technically not possible to see the general gauge cluster that the driver sees when sitting in the passenger seat. Totally doesn't make any sense.

I did explain, you just rejected my reality out of hand. The speedometer is occluded by the binnacle in the Portofino (and in many other models of car I've ridden in). That is my declaration.

I think he means sometimes the speedometer is positioned in the cluster to the right, or obscured by the hull to where you’d really have to try hard to see it as a passenger.

Dug through my photo library and found a representative photo. I hate to see others struggle. You basically have to put your head on the driver's shoulder to see the speedometer which is deep within the binnacle well. If speeds are triple-digit, the "1" requires less strain to see, but it's still awkward to do without intruding on the driver's personal space.

As it should be. Imagine Ferrari execs discussing putting a separate set of gauges on the passenger panel back then. I’m sure you’d get blank stares.

If I were to buy a brand new car, then yes I would include many options, check the total price and wait if I had to. I also don't finance vehicles for the same reason as not buying new. This in reality is also due to me not being that wealthy. It's not about not paying for the premium of the options, I could have bought a cheaper F8 with less options. In fact every car I have bought has been a fair amount above the cheapest ones due to the options. Just as I stated with the 911 Turbo S I was looking at, £130k cheapest but I could not find one with the options I wanted for less than £160K that is a premium over the cheaper ones.
Performance advantage makes little difference, there are many options that add zero performance advantage, correct me if the Ferrari shields make the car faster. We are all different, all seek different things and technically no one is wrong in their own right. However, to remotely think that the passenger display is useless to everyone is nonsense. I do understand why someone would not want it but so many would also.

I ordered it in my 2023 F8 Spider and I liked it. Let's all admit that these cars are just expensive toys for big boys, except for those of you that are professional race car drivers or something like that. These cars are fun cool toys. Adding the display adds to the fun and cool of the car, in my opinion.
But apparently many do not agree, which is fine, but for those of you that think it is a cool gimmick, it is. Don't be swayed by people on here that hate it, that's just their opinion. Go with what you want for your toy.

The only purpose the passenger display does is gives your wife a direct reason to yell at you to slow down! :)

Because the topic is largely settled that people hate it...

I'll be the contrarian for fun.

1..it's not for you guys. It's for young people. People who have screens in front of them all day and all night. It's a tech screen driven world. It cost peanuts to make.

2..a positive thing is....if you are 10 years old and you get a ride in a Ferrari... You will remember that screen. You will remember forever.

I'm not a fan and can live without it... But I don't hate it.

Thought I wish we just had a nice set of Jaeger gauges in the cars

... or to point out that "You could have taken that section a little faster, ya know" :)

side not: Jen doesn't need a display in front of her for confirmation

Mine is definitely a CBBSCD (Carbon Based Biological Speed Control Device)!

Kathleen has been sound asleep and even if my speed just creeps up, as I near 100, I get the warning!
