The silly season on steroids. And no matter what happens, it won't mean a thing as to which team will be leading by the fifth race of 2026. The only thing for sure is that a lot of money is and will be flushed down the toilet between now and then.

Sure - along with mistakes on his own part. Charles has not completed the journey to ice cold challenger Oscar and Max have. Not yet. Does he need more support, yes. Along with better and more consistent performance in himself.

Charles Leclerc's greatest weakness was to commit his career solely to Ferrari.
A driver of his talent owes it to himself to always look for the best opportunity to further his career.
Ferrari hasn't been the best team to aim at a championship for almost the last 2 decades.
Signs are it isn't going to change. Enough said ...

Yes fully agree. Promises made on progress and hence long term contract. He learned nothing from Vettel's own experience or more important, Alonso's.
He's now already on notice from RedBull no less, they would take Oscar over him, if they had to choose. If he leaves Ferrari he will take a down-grade in my opinion. He needs to have a super strong finish to the season now and hope Ferrari are remotely competitive next year...........sounds familiar, yes? Next year lol.

The sports world is replete with examples of great athletes who remained loyal to a single team throughout their career. Sometimes that included winning championships and sometimes not. I have a bit of respect for Charles and his loyalty to and compassion for Ferrari.

I haven't. Great champs have switched teams to keep winning; sometimes it worked, sometimes not.
Jack Brabham, Graham Hill, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet did it with success, not forgetting The Master Fangio who won 5 titles in 4 different teams !
Teams are not loyal to drivers, so why being devoted to them ?
A self-respecting individual should always look after himself first, IMO.

In reply to your "I have a bit of respect for Charles and his loyalty to and compassion for Ferrari."

I said that I haven't. I think he is barking up the wrong tree.

You must have wet dreams with Charles mistakes, why don't you count others and see who has more? Including Max and Oscar....

Given what he's paid he is disappointing overall. Thats his problem. Oscar is at the top currently. Takes a car capable of winning and is doing so. Charles has how many poles vs wins? No driver is worth any dream. Charles hype has not at all matched reality.

Killer instinct and mental and spiritual fortitude. Charles and Lando struggle with these.

Max and Oscar don't become discouraged, they simply keep fighting til the final lap and final race.

I agree. Lando is possibly too soft. He's very emotional and seems like he's ready for therapy if anything goes awry. Charles... I don't know. I think he seems to lack that killer instinct as well... or there's just something missing. I just never got that "I'm going to win no matter what" attitude from him.

Max is a savage. Oscar is ice-cold steel. Both make champions.

Oscar is also strategic when fighting to pass Max. He knows when to wait and when to pass Max. In the corners is not the way to go when you have a DRS straight.

Very calculating and mature given his age.

Charles is a very talented driver...and the sport has been full of them...all his equal in success and failure. Charles' record proves that he is not championship material. Ferrari has brought two overpriced drivers to the game, as well as an underperforming car. Ferrari's only chance to be fighting at the front for a championship is for a top down change in management and personnel.

As for Max, I feel this season is proving that he is only mortal. Mercedes and McLaren have to two best packages on the grid this season. I still contend that Mercedes would be wiser putting their money into the car and not into Max.

I feel the opposite. Given where the Red Bull car clearly is, I think Max this year looks as good as ever, if not better.

Red Bull will fall backward and spend four or so years trying to come back. But first they have to find the design talent to give them a car.
