Ditto. Agreed.
I do also regret skipping out on the painted shields but the MSRP on this thing was too much and had to axe some items. plus my car had an increased base msrp compared to most of the other 812s delivered in 2024 for some reason. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
She’s a beauty! I know you’re supposed to spec V12s in subtle colours but I love the 812 in bold colours like this
I modified this one and use it here. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Works well, holds my large phone secure and I can run the charging wire up thru the center console.. I had to cut the two ears off the base where it attaches to the vent and also remove the knurling from the clamping barrel.
Always read about how some keep the stereo off because the engine noise is all you need. Lowered the rear window on my first drive today. I get it now!
Only problem with this car is the engine note ruins most other cars. Anything I’ve gotten into after just doesn’t compare sound wise whatsoever. And yet it can be so subdued when necessary. An unbelievable car.
The engine note is exquisite, but it’s not loud enough for me. I don’t want obnoxious noise but something that sounds good in tunnels would be nice. I have a 458 with a stock exhaust and that thing is noisy! Ferrari have tried their best but with the latest European emission standards their hands are tied. After much research and dithering I am having a full Novitec exhaust fitted in 10 days. This deletes the GPF and replaces the stock 800 cell cats with 100 cell sport cats. They change the H pipe for an X pipe and replace the back boxes with valved units. You also need the “tectronic” obd thing to cancel the codes that get thrown from lack of gpf and less back pressure from the free flowing cats - this was what was really putting me off but I’ve got my head around it, i think. There are a million threads on here regarding whether this is a good idea or not and I’m not trying to turn this thread into another one, but I will report back with how it goes.
I have a capristo exhaust and X Pipe with Capristo 250 Cel cats. Might want to look at those cats versus 100. I don’t use an OBD because 250 doesn’t trigger a CEL. Have had it on for almost a year and 10k miles and it’s never triggered. Sound is also less obnoxious than sport cats IMO. I had sport cats for a second. Was too much. Good luck
I was told by the Novitec dealer (they also stock Capristo) that deleting the GPF will always throw codes regardless of the cats, so even if you have 250 cell cats you still need the tectronic. Have you deleted the GPF?
I know from experience in the TDF with Novi that it doesn’t delete codes. Just hides them from annoyance.
I’m not sure if we deleted the GPF. I didn’t need it any louder with this setup. The setup I had prior with capristo sport cats was throwing codes. Not the best video since it’s on a busy street but even with all the excess city noise and traffic it’s plenty loud for me.
So… my problem with these (I’ve bought a BUNCH of different ones) is that I can never find one with the metal hook long enough. Can you take a picture with yours removed so I can visually see the modification you made to it?
So I had the Novitec installed to my GTS yesterday. It doesn’t disappoint. I can understand those that find it a bit obnoxious, it is incredibly loud. I have 100 cell sport cats, x-pipe, valved back boxes and the tectronic obc code killer. It had two settings, valves open all the time or let the ecu open and close them like normal. With the valves open at low revs it sounds a bit agricultural but as the revs go up, wow, it sounds amazing. It’s like having a new car. Some of the noises on overrun are brilliant. I’m imagining flames but I suspect they only exist in my mind. My car is yellow and lairy looking so i think it suits the car’s character, but if you want a more low key cool GT car don’t get this. The car got a fair bit of attention anyway but now it’s a proper head turner, again, if you want to fly under the radar, don’t do it! No EML lights yet but the right back box is rattling so it’ll have to go back that’s annoying. There are a million videos on YouTube of 812s with Novitecs but I’ll still post something later, may as well make it a million and one.
I went with 250 cats which are intentionally less aggressive but I find that when driving in automatic the sound isn’t as obnoxious. I never want that kind of attention in more pedestrian areas.
If you put the valves in ecu controlled mode it’s very quiet at slow speeds/low throttle. Feels like stock.
I am thinking about doing this if I keep it. I might possibly trade it on my Revuelto which is supposed to be in soon.
250 Capristo cats/capristo valved exhaust and X pipe. Sound is just enough so the 812 sounds like it should without being overly obnoxious.
