POLL: If F80 were offered with different engine choices

When are you getting your T33? I have an acquaintance (friend of a friend) with an allocation and he was kind of offering it to me but to be honest I am concerned about buying into a boutique manufacturer where the founder is the heart and soul of the operation, I am always concerned of what would happen with the company after the visionary is gone, having said that for me the T33 over the T50, the fan on the T50 looks ridiculous IMO.

I would be curious to learn directly from an owner with first hand experience. Congratulations on the allocation.

 

The T33 is outrageous, looking forward to your notes on that when you receive it.

458 is probably something I should've included....for me anyways that's the perfect balance for a street car. Especially a Speciale. It's of course very fast but you can still push it pretty far without constant fear of imminant death that say an F8 or SF90 will give, even though they are safer, the speeds will be higher once more.

I agree with you about 95% of the drivers and their probable use, which will be only highway and local driving. But sometimes they will want a taste of the hills. I agree that preserving, as best as possible, the traditional experience of sound and analog feel is something that should be kept. But not at the expense of safety. Of course, where you pick on the spectrum is the question.

A best friend of mine's daughter drove a relatively analog 911 up into the hills behind where I live. She knows how to drive, as she was in the top 1% of all go-karts in the US when she was 17. Unfortunately, she lost the car from understeer - snap oversteer, as the roads were patchy with shadows. She had a front corner head-on. Her life, where she was at the top of every dimension you can imagine, effectively ended. So there are cases of safety that should be available in the car's ability.

Personally, I would opt for being able to turn on/off systems. I do think in cases of patchy damp asphalt, cars with assisted handling can save drivers from accidents. Losing the back end of the car from weather/road induced oversteer happens in cars with a lot of torque (812) with cold tires or damp roads. Most early buyers don't have feel for this. This is one of the big advancements of the 12C over the 812SF.

Of course, we know this is how ABS was first introduced. Recently, there was a video from a YT car reviewer JayEmm watching his friend lose the back end of his car on damp roads and having serious injuries because of sudden oversteer at sane speeds. So I am ok with having a much bigger performance envelope that is reachable with safety. If someone wants it. For me, if safety of advanced handling and braking innovation occur, then why not. I first noticed this after I bought my SF90. The brakes were insanely reactive and strong. So much so, I had to retrain myself to feel comfortable with the safe apex ability. And the 4WD torque vectoring. I was braking way too early now from the SF90 brakes. It was really exciting. Just in a different way.

 

I have no idea when. I think no earlier than 2027.

 

I have 2 sets. One for winter driving which are MPS4S. Really quiets down the oversteer tendency. And Cup2. Fun for summer, just need to warm them up.
