Lance looked good all weekend and it was legit, nothing to with fuel loads or timing the optimal lap. He put it together in quali and in the race.

I stand by him sounding like a clueless nitwit though.

Agree. Though Alonso did have serious back issues, enough for him to sit out FP1.

Both drivers are tied in seasonal points, 26 apiece before the summer break.

Okay, did the Stig replace the Stroller this weekend? That's the only explanation that I can find.

Let's give Lance a touch of credit for once. Maybe now he has some new found minerals.

He is, and will forever be, useless. He’s been in F1 for 8 years. He’s never going to amount to anything and is clearly just here as a hobby. A waste of a seat, but the silver lining to this dreadful cloud, is that his dad has saved Aston Martin F1 (for now).

His critics haven't commented on Lance Stroll finishing 3rd in FP1 at Zandvoort. Why ?

And how many points did he haul in for the team with that? Exactly. That's why no one cares.

Fernando Alonso split the McLarens, 0.087s down on Norris. Lance Stroll meanwhile escaped harm after a heavy crash in the sister Aston Martin.

I just love these posts bragging about meaningless FP1 results and then watch Lance completely embarrass himself with another mistake or terrible performance.

You missed the point. Looking forward to the next time one of you Stroll fans brag about a decent FP1 result. I'm sure the mechanics are happy about it while rebuilding his car from a self induced mistake. No doubt they are confident their efforts working through the night will result in a superb performance in qualifying.

In my case, I always have some sympathy for back markers. Lance Stroll reminds me of an era when dilettantes and average drivers could have a career in F1, like Masten Gregory, Carel Godin de Beaufort, Jo Bonnier, etc ...

To me, F1 as the pinnacle of road racing (especially open wheel) in the world should have the 20 best drivers on the planet. Not half the drivers being good and the other half just by products of extremely wealthy and entitled families.

Of course my ideal F1 isn't a reality, but it would be nice if the drivers in F1 could at least be the 20 best of all the rich spoiled kids. I truly believe there are dozens and dozens of drivers out there that are greater talents than many of F1 drivers we've seen over the years. They just didn't have the money on connections to get their chance.

I really don't see how anyone can root for this clown especially after his pathetic performance this weekend. His mechanics must hate him. Work into the middle of the night to fix his car AGAIN and he takes it out in quali and immediately trashes it. Absolute loser.
