we are pleased to offer this Alloy XK120. These are great vintage rally cars and would be a great way to run some events next year. Priced well at $295k

#20 of 242 alloy cars and one of only 54 produced in RHD.

Chassis completed on 28 November 1949, despatched 9 December 1949 to Brylaws, Sydney (arriving on the “Willesden" ship) and sold to its first owner George Thame of Roseville in Sydney on 16 February 1950. Raced by him at venues including Hawkesbury hillclimb, Mt. Panorama, the Castrol 24 Hour trial, and Bathurst.

Next sold in 1962 from Sydney Dealer C.V. Murray to Bonito Bonnano of Wentworthville, Sydney.

Next sold in 1969 to a German engineer, Mr Roeder, who took it home with him to Europe in 1969.

Next sold August 1970 in Germany by dealer Auto Reuter, of Stuttgart to Roger Dunn (of Traben-Trarbach) (had been advertised in the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport.

Next sold late 2007 or early in 2008 when it was sold by Roger Dunn to Peter Scadron (restoration shop) of Arizona, USA - although the car stayed in the UK for restoration. At that time, photographs showed the car totally dismantled with some new wooden body frame work being carried out, that being done at John Brown's Leaping Cats in Nuneaton, Coventry, UK.

Next sold 2014 to Ray Langston of Miami Beach. Rarely used and shown only a handful of times

Current owner 2023 shown at Amelia Island concourse in 2024 where the car won a class award for Sports and GT cars pre-1955.

    Thanks
    Craig

I wanted to bump this thread. I’ve got this on consignment with Craig at FastCars and they did a bunch of service on it this spring so it’s 100% ready to go for the next owner. I planned on doing more rally’s with the car, but as some of you know I ended up getting a 500 Mondial and that’s taking over event car duties.

I’ll be in California next week for Monterey and I’d like to get this sold, so reach out to Craig and present a sensible offer and you’ll get an unbelievable and very rare vintage car that qualifies for virtually any event you’d like to do from the Colorado Grand to the Mille Miglia and everything in between.

Wanted to mention that there was a 1949 alloy XK at Gooding for car week last week and it sold for $257,000. That car was restored in the 1980s and has a Heritage certificate. This car above was restored much more recently and is visually in better/cleaner condition inside, outside, and underneath plus it also has a Heritage Certificate.

Additionally, this car comes with an entire crate of parts original and specific to this car including the original style seats, windscreens with frame and convertible top bows, wheels, and spats should you want to use any of it. These parts are mostly specific to alloy cars too so they’re essentially hens teeth and very valuable on their own.

Details at top of this page, or just call Craig at FastCars and talk to him about it. Car was just serviced and it’s turn key. (310) 937-6700

BTW, this is what it looks like underneath. You’d be hard pressed to find a nicer one:
