Really nice. I like the black with silver wheels, maybe that is Old School, but your car looks great.

Thanks so much. My car came with the carbon wheels but I don’t want to worry about them. I have the Argento stripe so added OEM matte Argento wheels.

We are now down to 4 (four) Speciale coupes for sale in US, versus 35 (thirty-five) Pista coupes.

The miles set it apart…only about 150 per year. It will likely not see many more.

wow. Speciales are becoming Special!!! Pretty soon they'll sit and no one will drive them. Pistas become the daily hammer car.

458 Speciale prices up 28.9% over last year, versus 488 Pista prices up 11.4% for same period, per this:

Doesn’t seem like the hypotheses in this thread is accurate based on these percentages. The argument that the Pista will never see the Same numbers as the Speciale is off. Seems the Pista is following the exact same trajectory as the Speciale and will likely hit a similar price point as the pista continues to climb and the speciale plateaus, which is inevitable. I would bet both cars are similarly priced or close within the next 18 months.

The Speciale is reaching its best time for some buyers - old enough to have gone from "used" to "collectible" status, and recent enough to avoid the fears from an older classic car.
The Pista is also not helped by the existence of the (less expensive) F8; usually the VS is the latest version but the F8 disrupted the traditional pattern.
When the 296 VS and the 296M will actually be on the roads, the Pista will also gradually change status.
Actually I would not be surprised if 5 years from now the Pista will be more expensive than the Speciale, and we could even see the Scuderia making a come back.
Eventually the most expensive VS should be the 360 CS IMHO - it's the first and the "purest"; its lower performance will not mean much when the successors will be completely outdated in this respect (a Speciale or Pista is already slow compared to a 296).

Pista is also widely considered one of the best looking modern Ferraris so that helps as well. Not sure it will surpass speciale but its trajectory is similar and eventually these cars will all plateau somewhat. Average Pista is only roughly 100k apart on the Ferrari pre owned site now and has popped big time in the last 6 months. Time will tell. This is just my prediction based on instinct.

Did you even look at the data point above? More like $239k apart.

458 Speciale: 4 on market (avg price $854k)
488 Pista: 10 on market (avg price $615k)
    (excluding Pilotas)

did you read my comment? I specifically said based on the Ferrari pre own site. I wouldn’t base these numbers on total cars on sale. You have dealerships like Cario that skew the market significantly for their own benefit. Not a good metric.

Having both, I strongly disagree on looks: The swoopy holes in the Pista are dated and unattractive vs the pure curves of the Speciale, also who needs a turbo, when there's an NA that's quick enough even in the hidden back roads of the West [165 half an hour at a time in places]. For me the Pista and my '22 turbo S are very fast but somehow it's boring.... and pardon me I'm repeating myself.

Yes, I'm not blind. But Ferrari dealers don't MAKE the market. The entire market of ALL dealers makes the market.
