How much would it cost to bring that F40 up to driving condition since it has only 360km? I guess the new owner may just keep it as a static display given the odometer. I figured it would have gone for more with it being that low and how much a regular used LaF goes for...

Its a double edged sword.. this car would have to go back to someone like Quality cars or similar to attain a value worth the restoration.. These restorations are getting so expensive now that it would not be viable... The condition of this car was pretty bad to say the least.

it is hard to parse out exactly what to read from these sales., and no-sales (thursday car stalled at 3.1). but here are a few points.
    - condition still matters.
    - previous owners still matter
    - ultra low mileage may now be considered detrimental
    - USA version vs ROW may not matter much anymore

    sure.
but, ultra low miles for anybody who has intentions for the car other than having it as a static display, is now a big problem.
who do you get to revive it. will they be able to find the parts. will they be able to get it running well even with the parts. how much time will that take?

IF i were a newly minted uber-wealthy person, with the objective of driving one of Enzo's greatest creations, i would direct my ample funds at the very best car that could actually be driven hard immediately, and not one that had super low miles AND needed a complete refurb with all the questions stated above.

Sadly that is not how the market sees it.. always the first question is mileage, then owners, then everything else..

The F40 was in no mans land.. zero miles but a terrible example that needs 600k spent on it.. most super low mileage cars are in need of a little TLC., that’s the difference.. if this car was a grade A perfect example, 2 owners with total provenance then it would have started with a 5 number.. I know this as we have just secured a F40 like this and it cost in excess of 5 million US

So put another 600 to 750 USD into that car, then you have a 300klm totally restored car... you might as well pay 5 USD and get the real deal.

The only reference I can give is back in 2016 when JD classics had a LM ( Body number 18 ) for sale, this car was 2.2 million GBP, they also had a low mileage 288 GTO and F40 for sale at the same time in their Mayfair showroom.. 288 GTO was 2.75 GBP and the F40 was 1 million GBP. Hopefully this will give some idea of the ratio.. they move around a little depending on what's for sale but they stay pretty consistent over a given period.
