Changing RHD California (2013) Brake Switch - How>?!

Im trying to change the brake switch (210957) in my cali 30 rhd. On the Left Hand Drive cars, it looks a bit fiddly but doable. On the UK/RHD cars, Im having to take the bottom of the dashboard off and even then i suspect there will be more dismantling to get access.

Before i do more - has anyone ever done this or know any tricks?

 

So far ive taken off the underside of the dashboard but i cant even see the brake switch from here!

 

i managed to get it out but now to put the new one in , im struggling. i cant actually remember if its clockwise or anticlockwise. one quadarant of the locating area on the car appears to be double thickness which i am presuming is to stop the switch turning that way, so that would suggest i need to turn anticlockwise to reinstall ? n.b. its a rhd car
