As with all great cars, pictures do not do this car justice... perfect.

I say this every time one of these comes up.

This is what the 911 Cabriolet should have become in the 90's, this silhouette. The lower raked windshield, the sparse interior. I thought that's what was going to happen at the time.

Instead 911's became more and more bloated every year.

This is peak 911 for me!

I might be mistaken, but I believe the 3.2 Speedsters were a 930 (911 Turbo) wide body minus the front lip spoiler and whale tail, with the raked windshield and clamshell. They are beautiful cars ... having owned a couple of 3.2 Carreras, certainly not fast by today's standards they have a ton of analog character, non-power steering, and the better G50 gearbox. I think Porsche at the time suggested that the convertible top was for emergency use only, and it's not the most water proof top they ever made, but I doubt many of these cars ever see rain. I wish I had bought the black one I was looking at in the mid 90s, I think it was for sale for $50k. Best of luck with the sale, that's a great example.

That thing is rotting. Maybe a nice art piece but that's about it without a full rebuild.

Should make it clear that the above undercarriage photo is the Sotheby's auction car, not the OP's.

But agree that looks like the factory Cosmoline to me.

You are Correct A/C Delete...same price with or without!
I have heard of retrofitting identical units if someone was so inclined as ventilation system is there.

Probably a weight advantage, if anything, as the earlier 911 never had effective AC till the 964 showed up ;)

The 80's 911's were the best looking ones in my opinion. I haven't been interested in the model since.
