Nico Iamaleava - my dream is this clown screws himself out of millions, and that nobody signs him, but I think he will end up at USC, who will be stupid enough to overpay the guy a ton.
Nick Saban posted this on his FB page yesterday…… It doesn’t matter if you yell Go Dawgs, War Eagle, Hook ‘Em, Go Irish, or Roll Tide… No matter the colors you wear or the stadium you call home, every college football fan should be standing with Josh Heupel today. Because this weekend, he didn’t just make a coaching decision — he made a stand. A stand for what college football used to be, and what it still could be if enough of us care. He stood up for crisp Saturday mornings in Knoxville, when you’re walking into a tailgate with your kids — full of pride, tradition, and orange everywhere you look. He stood up for late Saturday nights under the lights in Neyland, with your best friends beside you, watching a game that feels bigger than life. He stood up for the culture this sport has created — one built on loyalty, legacy, and love for something deeper than money. Guys like Peyton Manning didn’t wear the Power T for a paycheck. Hendon Hooker didn’t stick around for a bidding war. They played for Tennessee — for what it meant. And this isn’t a criticism of the player, but the system that allows & promotes this behavior. You were warned this was coming. That NIL would tilt the balance. That the game we love would start to lose its soul. And here we are — where the highest bidder can win, and jumping ship is just part of the process. But this weekend, Josh Heupel said enough. He drew the line. He chose Tennessee over transactions. Culture over contracts. So whether you love Tennessee or love to beat them — respect the man who stood up for every fan who’s ever poured their heart into this game. Thank you, Coach Heupel. For standing tall. For reminding us why we fell in love with this sport in the first place. Roll Tide. Go Vols. Go College Football.
I would just hope and pray NOBODY signs this guy. If someone does - and someone will - it will open a pandora's box for every other clown that thinks they are bigger than the game. I still remember a guy for the 49'rs 15 or 20 years ago, he was being interviewed after a game, I remember vividly him saying 'I love this game so much I'd play for nothing', yet, when camps opened up the following summer, this clown held himself out of camp for a new contract.... I WISH I could remember who this was, he was a CB, S or maybe a LB....
I don’t think Nico is a championship caliber quarterback. His ego is too big. He thinks he’s better than he is. In my obviously non-professional opinion, he’s “topped out” talent wise. IE…he’s not getting better with experience. Maybe he’ll learn but he cannot hit the deep ball. Short passes are thrown like baseballs. No touch. And it’s like he loses what’s happening on the field in play. It’s not instinctual. His choices at this point are limited. Per rule, he cannot transfer to another SEC team. I see him going to California where he’s from. USC, UCLA….
What Division III school needs that headache? Maybe he should declare for the draft, go undrafted, then unsigned, run thru the money he's made, then rob a liquor store, get caught, end up in prison, then get out, and coach HS ball, telling us all of the mistakes he's made, all his regrets.
Pre-season pics for the Champs of the various conferences? (Post to be revisited in December so to see then how well you picked today)
College football is boring. Why? Because for the next 20-30 years, if not longer, the SAAAAME teams are going to win ALLLLL the titles. If not already sick of, we will become sick of hearing about nobody but: Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Alabama, Georgia followed by: Notre Dame, LSU, Clemson, Michigan, Oregon All the Florida teams will knock themselves out, USC and Oklahoma don't matter.
Problem is, we don't know what conferences still exist - nor do we know who is left in them. Feel free to list the conferences - and each team in each conference. I'll just say Ohio State and Texas.... who else is there?
Nice game management Deion. Can flap those gums but should spend more time honing his skills as a coach.
The Mean Green will be donning a commemorative decal on the back of their helmets in honor of the late Bill Mercer for the 2025 season. If you don't know who Bill Mercer , take a look at his wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Mercer He had a HUGE influence on the maturation of sports broadcasting in America, and I was honored to have studied under him and worked with him on several (local cable) TV shows. For the next week, what will be dominating sports talk radio? 1) Arch Manning 2) Texas football as a whole 3) Ohio State 4) Alabama 5) What it will cost to buy out Alabama's coach 6) Florida State 7) Clemson 8) LSU 9) Micah ****ing Parsons, the most overrated DE in the world 10) Travis and Tay-Tay 11) Something else... There really are only two answers
It was, a very young team, but let's not forget the fact that damned near every player is a 5-Star recruit. Taking NOTHING away from OSU, Texas just sucked. I blame Sarkisian... (LOL)
Problem is, I don't think that was a surprise. Even I had Miami picked, at home, in the heat and humidity, with so many returning players.... Tell ya what, though, the Notre Dame QB Carr, his Mom looks really nice.... I think they had her on TV about as much as Taylor Switft at a KC game.....
Aside from the few really big games between ranked teams, it was mostly a bunch of blowouts of other ranked teams over teams getting big payouts for losing! Even the Gators winning 55-0 over........Long Island U.?
How badly was North Carolina and Bill Belichick beaten by TCU tonight? At one point, a golden retriever was calling the game on the national broadcast. TCU could have dropped 70 on UNC if they wanted. Image Unavailable, Please Login
