But those are junior drivers again !! Marko is messing them up and destroying them !
Red Bull should try to sign a top driver like Leclerc, Norris, Piastri, Russell, with confimed experienced, GP winners.
Ron Dennis (I always mention him) wasn't afraid to recruit Senna when he already had Prost !!
Chapman didn't hesitate to sign WDC Graham Hill when he already had Jim Clark (twice WDC).
It seems that team principals were more daring in the past; and they created competition inside their team !

Isack Hadjar has been praised as “incredible” by Racing Bulls’ boss Peter Bayer, as he ruled out any chance of a 2025 Red Bull swap.

Bayer has poured cold water on the idea of Hadjar stepping up from Racing Bulls before the end of this year, saying that there is a desire to maintain a sense of calm internally at the Red Bull teams off the back of the driver turbulence at the start of the year.

Laurent Mekies has made an impressive start to life at Red Bull and is already winning praise from the team’s Formula 1 advisor Helmut Marko.

Mekies was drafted in as Red Bull’s team principal and CEO last month after the energy drinks giant sacked Christian Horner, who had led the squad since its inception in 2005.

Ferrari and Racing Bulls before landing the top job at the Milton Keynes squad.

The Frenchman also has a streamlined role at Red Bull, focused on the running of the grand prix team, with its new powertrain division not falling under his remit.

Marko believes these two factors will make a big difference for Mekies, who has been putting in long shifts to gain a full understanding of the inner workings of the team.

“Mekies has made a very good debut,” Marko told F1-Insider. “He's certainly been on the job for 14 or more hours a day, engaging with management and holding discussions.

“He's an excellent engineer and has a strong focus on technology. That was also our goal: He doesn't have to worry about marketing, PR, or Red Bull Powertrains—that all remains independent. His focus is entirely on the racing team.”

Red Bull Powertrains is led by British engineer Ben Hodgkinson, who previously served as Head of Mechanical Engineering at Mercedes.

This leaves Mekies free to focus on the operational side of the F1 team, whether at the race track or the factory.

Yuki Tsunoda, Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson.

Mekies’ appointment is seen as crucial for Tsunoda’s future at the team, with the 48-year-old having been impressed by how he performed at the Faenza squad last year.

Asked what style Mekies brings to the team, Marko said: “He's down-to-earth and has both feet on the ground. His discussions with the drivers are also more technical.”

Ford has confirmed that it is expanding its technical involvement in Red Bull Powertrains’ ambitious Formula 1 programme, broadening its scope from hybrid components to also working on the internal combustion engine.

Palou, who has won four IndyCar titles, looks to be staying put in the American series.

Chip Ganassi, who owns the team Palou races for in IndyCar, poured cold water on the rumours.

“I read that myself. There was nobody quoted in there. I talked to Palou. Palou said he’s never talked to anybody, doesn’t know anything about it,” Ganassi said as quoted by The Associated Press.

“I talked to his management. They know nothing about it. I know nothing about it. I think it’s a clickbait story.

“He had an opportunity to leave and he decided to stay. I don’t know how many times I have to say that. Everybody can see that”

If it ever came to an offer from Red Bull and Palou wanted to go I think Chip might allow it….assuming Red Bull would buy his contract, of course. Any IndyCar driver with a solid offer from Red Bull…or any other competitive F1 team…would be a fool not to leave IndyCar for it. For all we know that scenario might be addressed in his contract.

Ganassi might agree to a driver swap, as when Zanardi went to Williams in exchange for J-P Montoya.

    Christian WHO??? :)

Max Verstappen hailed Red Bull’s new team principal Laurent Mekies, praising his engineering acumen for helping steer the team back to winning ways after his crushing Italian Grand Prix victory.

The Dutchman crossed the line nearly 19 seconds clear of Lando Norris, securing his third win of the season and sending a clear message that Red Bull’s mid-season slump may be behind them.

Red Bull has struggled for much of the past year with an inconsistent and often unresponsive RB21. But in the wake of Mekies taking charge at the Milton Keynes-based outfit following Christian Horner’s exit last July, the team has benefitted from a clearer and more disciplined technical direction.

I was unsure about Mekies but so far it's looking good. Apparently the team has been too trusting in the simulator for setup direction. Apparently Max has been saying do this and that on setup but computer kept saying no, Mekies said lets follow Max and boom, things go in the right direction pretty quickly.

I wonder if Horner was the one that had final word and said trust the computer after max's complaining since summer 23.

The truth of that will probably not be known but Newey probably knows the exact truth. An NDA will probably prevent much of this being revealed would be my estimate for this. Mekies is smart and focused. Hardly making a wave politically and for the new regs he is needed. The cars are changing so much that this is exact leadership and direction most teams need.

There is so much about the RBR-Horner saga that will never be known and there are plenty of logical conspiracies floating around.

I still believe it was about power from Red Bull owners and Horner and they wanted him out. There's enough evidence before and after to support that theory.

Something as silly as internal sabotaging performance to give reason to fire Horner isn't out of the question to me. From day one, Horner always seemed to be in Max's corner. Plenty of time's he openly came to Max's defense against the media or other teams. Watch 2021, Horner seemed like Max's biggest supporter. It doesn't seem likely that Horner would go against Max's wishes and cost the team success and create a rift between himself and the worlds best driver. But again, who knows. Sounds pretty crazy, that's for sure.

But lets look at some facts. Horner helped lead the team from nothing in the mid 2000s to a dominant force 2010-13 and then stay competitive with a poor engine platform through the Mercedes dominated 2014-2020 and then return to domination and championships 2021-2024. Suddenly Horner loses all ability how to manage a team and what it takes to win and the team falls off like at an unheard of rate? Coincidentally there is a sex scandal that really wasn't even that outrageous. The shock departure of Adrian Newey. And then RBR can't figure out how to design or setup a car. Newey's involvement with their F1 program was limited at the beginning of F1, but the same aerodynamics and chassis folks that couldn't improve the car in that period are there now, and suddenly under Mekies they have regained their ability in a couple of weeks?

it's all very fishy to me, but I guess it doesn't really matter. The team and Red Bull corporate seem to be happy with Mekies and the team is looking stronger.
