I figured it out. Seems like it’s a twist on/off. All good.
Just orient the mirror 45 degrees to the right then rotate counter clockwise to secure

Good info for the DIY crowd. I think most owners are reluctant to touch a trim tool or screwdriver when it comes to their F cars. Possible reason is that when I inquired about installing a pigtail for my V1, my dealer looked concerned and said he wouldn't risk the warranty implications. I contained my chuckles and went after the 8 minute job with reckless abandon.

Keep a close eye on battery voltage as you start to use it, and let us know how it goes!

I believe it’s operating properly so far, radar only powers on when ignition is on and shuts off on accessory mode. I tapped the mirror harness at the red and black wires. Measured with a voltmeter and it was +13V

Looks like red from the detector wire went in the blue on the harness, can you please confirm the colors to tap into?
I plan to install mine this weekend. THX JM.

Sorry for the unclear pic. But the harness has a red and black wires opposite each other. Red from detector into red into the harness and black is ground.

One thing I’ve had happen twice now is a weird constant on / off that you can’t stop on the radar detector when starting in anything but qualifying mode. It’s easy to fix by starting in qualifying but I’ve been surprised… a long time ago I got an electrical engineering degree so I’ll look at the circuits to see if I see anything weird over the weekend

    ah, you saw this too.

So the behavior I see, is if I don't drive the car for 2 days and it's on the charger, I start it on EV/Hybrid/battery (one push on the start/stop) the radar detector freaks out like you said.

It must be a voltage stabilization/damping that is either not happening, or maybe it's a low voltage condition? Haven't measured things.
