I wish I could get a hold of his 3555 challenge and run his car around the Country "in memorandum." We talked about tracking our cars around the Country. I've made several swings around the country to all the cool race tracks and tried to convince him to do the same. Thankfully he tracked regularly on one of the best tracks in the Country, Watkins Glen, right in his back door.
Get in touch w his race shop. Last I knew he had no immediate family so shop might know if they're for sale
So sorry to hear this…I’d never met him, but hoped to someday. Always enjoyed his posts and comments here. Some people’s true character comes across in their “online persona”, and I always thought Barry was one of those, a good guy and no question a real enthusiast to boot. Wherever you are, Barry, I hope the tracks are a blast, gas is cheap, and the trackside decibel meters got misplaced. Godspeed, man.
Truly shocking. I was always looking forward to checking Barry's posts and realised every time I would search through older posts how he massively contributed over the years. At some point I noticed we did not have "just" a 550 and an F355 in common but also a third "enthusiast" car. Barry was probably the only other car guy on the planet I'd come across with the same triptych of cars and I can't stop kicking myself now for never taking the time to get in touch with him directly. Thank you Barry for having even just existed. Sincere condolences to his family.
Barry was a tremendous contributor to the F-Chat community. I found his posts to be insightful and well thought out. I will certainly miss seeing his name and avatar pop up and wish him Godspeed. He will be missed.
It's been a loooong time since I've had time to get out to a Ferrari event, but I remember Barry well from many, many events over the past couple decades. Seemed like he was at all of them . Very nice guy and a great enthusiast -- he will be missed.
It was a real shock to us all here at the shop as we were just with him at NJMP ferrari club track event two weeks ago. He was a great man who really had a passion for life, he will be greatly missed by us all. He really was a part of our crew. He really loved being at the track, Driving, and caretaking his 355 Challenge and being with friends who share the same passion. I decided to bring his car to the Ferrari Club Fall Festival at Florham Park this past weekend to show the car in memoriam For his friends in the Club. The Club was very nice to place his car in the center of the premier car display.
