I never been there but my wife seems to like this island. Talking Portuguese. A futur destination I think.

My best friend and his wife spent a week there about a year ago and both said the place was amazing, but also that week was enough. They live in Europe so getting there & back was easy for them. In past 45 years they've traveled extensively all over Europe, North & South America, but mostly on budget minded trips. So based on their assessment & experiences by "dustman" & "JOEA2," if traveling from the States, I think combining a visit to Azores with some other European destination would be worth of considering.
