Wish there was a cheaper way. Unfortunately, if you can't pull the bumper off yourself, that's what you have to do... to avoid leaving your car in a stranger's workshop for an indefinite period. I'd still be interested in seeing the inside of the accelerometer to see what damage is in there.

While you have the frunk lining out, I guess you could check for other issues:

Melting HVAC fuse
Cracked gears on suspension actuators
Leaking brake fluid reservoir (had this on my car)

We've been getting repeats of some pretty rare events. Hope this is not a sign of things to come.
