No one knows exactly how many Pistas there are, but one thing is clear, Ferrari builds at least as many cars, if not more. You seem to be living in a dream world where a 296 Speciale is a good investment. It's quite clear that although the 296 is technically superb, the car receives little recognition and people prefer to buy an F8, which evokes little emotion and is also slower. This shows how much people hate the 296, and that won't change with the 296 Speciale. It's the same platform.

If you don't understand that, then I feel sorry for you. People want an NA V12 or V8.

So nobody wants a 296 because it is universally hated. That’s the theory you are spouting as gospel?

Are you completely out of touch that you don't understand? We're talking about a lightweight model, and for the last 10-15 years, there has been no question of whether or not to take the car. You are the person with some false understanding.

You said people will hate the 296 Speciale. So nobody should take it? You just said lightweight models are a no-brainer.

Just call some dealerships. I’m sure one will offer you an allocation if you buy something sitting on the floor that they can’t sell.

The Speciale and GTB will allow you to put the seat all the way back and tilt the seat back. On the A and the GTS there is a flat firewall behind you. With the seat all the way back, the seat cannot tilt at all, giving you an uncomfortable choice, more leg room, but crappy seat position, or good seat position, with less leg room. I’m 6 foot even and I couldn’t comfortably fit in the GTS.

For the first time now with the launch from 296 Speciale. Before that, people fought over it so to speak.

Same on 812GTS / SF90Spider - all 3 same story. If you get Carbon Daytona seat at 6'2 it's tight but it works.
Doors open less as well - 296GTS is the tightest door opening. SF90 812 much wider.

Huh? The Special starts at $470k. Base price of 849 will be way higher than that. Even SF90 was $530 base...

I'm sure it's true that there are a lot of people who aren't interested in the Speciale.

I know it's true that a lot of people are interested - more than there are allocations, at least so far.

Will more spots open up? Maybe. But these claims that interest is lukewarm or that Ferrari is flooding the market are simply wrong.

The car is going to be fantastic. Better than a 458 Speciale or a Pista? I don't know. It's going to be different. And awesome in its own right. Those fortunate to get an allocation should be pumped. (Congrats @ryalex!)

I'm not following this. Im 6-4 and I fit better in every coupe than its convertible counterpart. You always lose headroom with the convertible. 296 GTB I fit fine in with racing seats, not so with 296 GTS. F8 I fit great in, spider ok but tighter. I own an 812 GTS, and am fine with the racing seats all the way low, but in a super fast I had enough headroom for a helmet.

I specifically wanted and ordered a 296 Speciale bc I'd fit in it better than the Aperta...

And to me, it looks better and presumably sounds better. It's smaller, it's RWD. And it's a VS. If they were the same price, I'm still taking the Speciale.

Exactly. Honestly I think the base price of the speciale is going to end up looking like a good value.

I have an sf90 spider. I’m sure it has less headroom than the coupe, but I can count on one hand the times I’ve driven it with the roof closed as my head just hits when it closes. I drove a 296 gts and had a similar experience. Never owned a gtb, but I suspect it has more headroom in all models as you described. I need to go drive a 296 gtb

People are entitled to an opinion - we have learned we are more alike than different.
Nothing wrong with someone wanting to voice opinions.
We are all nuts - no one spends 500k - 1m on cars and considered normal.
Ferrari from HQ to Dealer is a very difficult. brand - tell a person with means what they can not have and they want it more - it's Ferrari's premise.

I am 6' and have a 95% perfect drivers position in the GTS with racing seats. I feel if I modify the seat by bringing up the front of the set, raising my knees, it would not only provide for a straighter leg and more comfort but also move the seat two inches forward so I can recline the back a bit more, I will test it out.

It sucks because I want the spider, but I know the coupe would be a better fit.

$509 base Speciale vs $535 base Testarossa.

Before you ask me to prove Speciale base price, please research this site. Images from the Ferrari ordering page shows the base price of the Speciale.

could be wrong but i think the 509 # is inclusive of Tariffs and the 535 is not, yet.
