Hi Guys, has anyone fitted a rear screen to a GT4? I bought the "screen rubber" which is just a bit of edging trim which I think goes around the aperture on the car, then does the screen just bond in from the inside?

    Thanks, Nick.

I had my GT4 bare metalled 20 months ago. I told the bodyshop I didn't want the rear screen removed in case they broke it as I wanted to retain the original heated one even if I never use it. I bought some new rubbers from Superformance but for some reason the bodyshop didn't like them and refitted the originals. I can ask it you want and they remember why. I also have contact with lots of other owners and can ask

Why do you need to replace. Is it broken?

If you could find anything out I would be most grateful.

I removed it several years ago for the car to be bare metalled and there was some rust surrounding it that needed repairing - the screen was also cracked when I bought the car so it had to come out. Unfortunately, it was so long ago I can't remember how it was fitted!!

Apparently the rubber fits on and around the body metal, and then the screen is just bonded on the inside. A bit weird but that’s the way it is!

It is a bit weird, but I couldn't see how else it would work - thanks again for your help.

A lot of cars don't even have the rubber going around the rear screen. Mine doesn't. I have it, but have never installed it.

So you have the metal edge exposed around the window? Mine is a bit rough so I'll definitely fit the rubber (plus I paid nearly £70 for it !!)

Yep - this is what it looks like:

When I first got the car it really bothered me that the rubber wasn't there. But then I started noticing that so many other cars don't have it that it just didn't bother me anymore.

It actually looks like it does have the trim on from the picture, lovely colour too.
