Thank you . I went out of my usual comfort zone with this build and the excitement of seeing it in person is sky high.
Yes, it’s Azzurro La Plata. I seriously considered Azzurro Dino, but then saw Azzurro La Plata in person and loved it.
I was never, and still am not a big fan of Brown colors, but this car has obviously been put together with a lot of taste in class. Outstanding example of someone projecting their personality into a beautiful museum sculpture like this 12 Cilindri.
Yes the various shades of brown don't suit everyone. Though I remember this color from the tailor made Ferrari 70th Anniversary models turned out rather well. This was on the F12 version as I recall. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry for the delayed response, but yes, it’s Azzurro La Plata with the red, white and blue stripe with white being the more predominant color in width.
What do we think of grigio scuro on this car? I have it specced in sane silver with a tricolore livery, but I'm thinking about cutting the spec back some. Here is the look on a PS. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Grigio scuro is definitely a yes. Looks very nice on the car. I would combine it with the standard wheels in grey. But no tricolore ..
I like it with the tricolore. Makes it pop a bit more. The car doesn’t have a lot going on, so I am thinking a flat color won’t be too bad. Most of the modern ones have needed a multi-layer to make them pop. Now I can save some ammo for the 296SA.
I still think many of these stripes will disappear in future resprays, like many brown cars from the 70s got resprayed in red and the black parts of 80s cars in body color. Of course, in a more distant future they will be returned to "correct factory stripes of the crazy 20s".
