Thanks for sharing the F430 part pictures and connector. I agree you could remove the 430 connector and refit the terminals into the 458 connector. But I was afraid there are other differences as well like impedance or different electronics in the small box so I went with the overpriced 458 part and called it a day.

So I’ve had the same issue with the bad sensor and after reading this thread last month ordered the 458 CPOD sensor. Tried to install it yesterday but the connectors are different from the ones fitted to my racing seat. See photos below. Any suggestions?

    Sbenus,
Yeah the CPOD sensor plugs into a connector on the inside of the seat not underneath it. You have to remove the leather from the base of the seat and the foam to access it. The CPOD sensor connector is sandwiched between the seat foam and the bottom carbon fiber panel of the seat. See my posts above I thought I made that very clear but sorry if it was confusing for some reason.

Hundred percent accurate. Just managed to do the fix today. Thanks so much for the information. Was even able to leave the new sensor between the foam and the carbon underside since the foam already had a larger cut out area where the sensor fit so nothing is visible externally. And the connector Plugged right in. No lights on the dash.

What car model and what seat. They vary between car and whether it is a carbon sport seat or a power seat. Lately we have just been programming the car to European air bag configuration and doing away with the Baby safe system. I do currently have 83566100 in stock which is for 458 and ff with power seats.
