Hi purchased this 599 on sothebys. high miles and good mechanical Condition. Thought these were vinyl stripes but actually high and plant , CF GTO side panels and GTO wheels among other mods my detail guy says these stripes are painted and seem original. car was delivered to Ron Tonkin and lived for most of its miles in KC. anyone have have info ? someone loved this car and drive it a lot. Awesome car. Any accident history? Seems like the type of upgrades that sometimes get done sometimes when there was an incident. Have you done online searches of the VIN? The glare blocks out the last few digits of the VIN on the window sticker.
The dealer might be able to help you with determining originality of the stripes. Either they were doing it or they weren't, someone will remember.
Stripes not in MODIS but really done well no accident history but agree. Wheels are oem and pricey. refresh under way. Stickies done original Poltrana Frau headliner reinstalled ( replacement vinyl) had been done. Detail guy working to refresh. I love it. Fun build outside of my usual but great sound (valves pinned open) any pointers or suggested upgrades that a new 599 Owner should know from yall ? I did speak to prior selling dealer who validated The issues were cosmetic and solid mechanically. steel brakes !!! Good for me. I think Any other ideas ?
Wow, I forgot that the '07 could have steel brakes. The carbon brakes are amazing on the car. There are a bunch of threads on known issues and some upgrades. It kind of depends on how much you want to stray from original.
