I imagine Stroll speaks French the way he drives- without much flair and an occasional lack of spacial awareness.

Is nepotism a positive or a negative? I'm pretty sure how you feel about Lance lines up exactly with how you feel about that.

Nepotism, if it can be called that, is when you favour someone that really deserves it, and people may gripe
about it, because they did not get it. So there is positive and negative nepotism.
It happens in politics all the time.

Lance is the owner's son, so "it's my party and I cry if want to". Go and convince dad that he does not deserve it.
He's there because he OWNS the business.

Nepotism is too harsh a term I think. To put it differently: I firmly believe that wealth of a family should be able to be transferred to the next generation within the family. I'd say most people would agree to that but I see counter arguments from the very far left (not trying to get this into the P&R forum). So what Lance Sr. does is take care of his family/son first. Nothing wrong with that in my book. I would do the same if I were in his position.

And as Nuvolari and others here have pointed out: Getting into F1 costs a LOT of $. Many drivers come from a wealthy background. Good for them. I don't have a problem with that.

Yes,.many of those F1 drivers that come from money.

This however is all together different. Buying your son an F1 team and running it takes even more money so the son can have fun in it. Like I have stated many times, this is a father-son Billion dollar hobby.

I never said it wasn't illegal.

It's his money, his team and his son and they can do as they please.

Of course they can. Lance could race in drag if he wished to. Why? 'Cause they own lock, stock, and barrel. That simple

The good side is that F1 is not critical for the human society - now imagine a world where important positions would be exclusively given to people based on the wealth of their parents rather than on their own competence; I guess (it would not be too difficult to find actual examples) it would end up in a very dysfunctional society, with ruling people being completely clueless.

Maybe because Dad is trying to prove those wrong that his son is WDC material and Dad is doing everything in his power to achieve that.

Call it wishful thinking or the love a father has for his son in the highest echelon of motorsport world, but Dad is sparing no expense at doing it.

Lawrence is great at marketing what he puts his money behind on whatever product hence why he's a Billionare several times over. IF (huge IF), Lance Stroll gets a WDC title, then it would be no different than putting lipstick on a pig in F1 purist-dom (if that has any bearing on your affiliation with anything and everything about F1)

No, but he sure is spending money to do so otherwise what other reason is Dad keeping him in F1?

Totally disagree. You don't luck into a F1 title.

Even the luckiest of F1 titles required the winner to have achieved a lot more than just having luck. There are some F1 WDCs I don't like but even those I have to give credit for what they did.

But fear not: Lance will never win the WDC. He is the 3rd most successful F1 driver of Canada and I'm pretty sure that he won't get any further than this.

The Canadian has a record in the history of F1 and he still is extending it.

While I agree with you, the "you don't luck into an F1 title" is true but maybe, just maybe(highly stress) you buy your way into an F1 title-->$200 million into a new AMRF1 facility with a new wind tunnel-->Adrian Newey-->Honda PU....not to mention the Dad and his colleagues have spent being 8 years in F1 and a $40 million seat to buy Lance's seat in F1 with William's when Lance started with Massa as a team-mate.

Buying your way into a F1 title was possible in the fifties/sixties. Not today anymore.
