Jos said they spoke with Ferrari this year and recently.

He absolutely could, but not with Ferrari. Ferrari showed their hand when they hired LH. Their priorities are not winning races any longer or they would paid whatever it took to get Max.

A further 4 titles would be hard indeed especially at Ferrari, but I'm pretty confident that in the scenario of Leclerc and Max at Ferrari in a title fight, Max would come out victorious.

Why would Max leave a team built around him. Thats not yet the plan based on the new regs. Ferrari have done what?? Their car is far more of a problem overall + pitwall performance.

Max is superior to Leclerc, obviously.

If Red Bull declines, I could only see see Max moving to Mercedes or Aston Martin perhaps.

Leclerc and Piastri are the only two drivers who can currently give Verstappen a run for his money.

I don’t buy the “inconsistent” criticism regarding Leclerc, especially lately. He’s beat his teammate every single season except one when he had terrible luck.

Many drivers beat their team-mates. Few are contend for a title, fewer win. Its a car capable of winning and a driver who utilizes that car. Charles has not had the full prescription so far. New talent is arriving and Charles is no longer the young new gun at all. He has probably 3 more years before the team is going to move on. Or does he?

My point was he has beaten every teammate he has had, yet, he's the one who is labeled "inconsistent" when he was just overdriving pigs.

True, in 3 years time, Charles Leclerc will be the next Daniel Ricciardo.
His career will be resumed by some flashes in the pan , but never a serious attack on the title.

He will, he's the best driver on the grid, together with Max, both by a big margin over the rest. He's the fastest guy around, one that makes the least mistakes, super solid, his only weakness really, is that max is better in the rain (although he's not bad), apart from that, i can't see anyone touching him if he has a car capable of doing the job, and i believe that soone ror later he will have it, Ferrari or not.
Just last weel Max was asked about the best drivers on the grid, and his answer was Charles and Alonso. It's just a matter of havinf a decent car, heck even Lando is having a sh9ot at the title, and doesn't even make it to the top 5 best drivers!

There probably exists a timeline where this is true but it's not this one.

It's not going to happen at Ferrari. I've always felt that Charles would thrive in a team like Mercedes.

He would in any competent team, unfortunately Ferrari hasn't been it, and hiring sir Lulu just proves they don't have a clue what they're doing.

I´ve seen Button win a championship when his career was in the trash can. I´ve seen Pastor Maldonado win a race. I´ve even seen Lance Stroll get a pole. For God´s sake: Lance Stroll!!

I´d say that Leclerc winning a championship is not the most unlikely thing I could see.

No. He's too loyal to Ferrari - seems like he's developed some sort of Stockholm Syndrome, maybe because he feels he's fulfilling the legacy of Jules Bianchi. But this will ultimately be the reason why he won't ever win a WDC. Unless Ferrari decides now to renew his contract when that time comes. But if that happens he'll be 30 years or older and past his prime, most likely with Verstappen, Piastri or Mercedes dominating.

Leclec is one of those people who consider that driving for Ferrari is worth more than winning a championship with another team. I heard Alesi and Berger saying the same in the past; they also left empty-handed.
The same will happend to Leclerc probably.

You´re too old to believe all that talk. Alesi and Berger happily jumped to Benetton when they had the chance. Alesi already had expressed interest in leaving at the beginning of the season and Berger (who I doubt ever said that he wanted to drive for Ferrari forever, that´s not his style) could have stayed if he wanted, but nobody would say no to the world champions.

Leclerc is relatively young. Teams change and drivers change teams.
