    I have a 2.7 GTB and am having the clutch replaced. The plan was to have the shop remove the flywheel and to have the flywheel resurfaced.

    I just received this message from them;

    “I need to talk with the tech some more on this and get his thoughts, but the last 355 clutch we replaced we did not do anything with the flywheel. The flywheel on yours is more of an assembly that is in a case with springs and bolted in. To resurface, it would have to be disassembled which we don't have the tools to take apart. The flywheel I saw on Ricambi is just the flywheel itself and it would have to be assembled into the case, which again - we don't have the special tools for. Ferrari sells it as an assembly which is damn near as much as the clutch job itself.”

    Any thoughts? I recall several DIYers taking their flywheel out without specialty tooling. Thanks in advance!

    My thoughts are, bring it somewhere else.

    Doesn't it just press out of the pumpkin bearing like a 348?

    You'll need the special ring nut tool to get that outside nut off, but then it just presses out.

    I agree, take it somewhere else.

    Tow it to a different shop.
