Sorry to bring up old thread, but wasn’t sure if starting a new one would be better. Lots of talk about what’s real and what’s fake etc.
But, I want to know where are fake ones being machined or lasered at for the cavallino?

I understand there are copyright issues, so it makes sense not to make it public. I actually just want mine carved out to the gated pattern to match a carbon knob.

Any help greatly appreciated. Jewelers and knife places etc. around town have told me it’s out of their element to do more than just a shallow etching.

I have only seen one fake one on eBay and it was obvious and also stated as such. The cavalino is not easy to replicate.

Hey maybe that was my fake one but I listed it saying it was a Ferrari lapel pin glued to an aftermarket gate.

I would agree and imagine the cavalino would be hard to do, but also create the copyright issue. like I said I actually just want the 6 speed pattern, which seems like it would be an easy aftermarket option without breaking any rules.

There was one where it was carved out. Looked really good too. Almost bought it before I found a legit one.

These things are getting so expensive I'm tempted to buy an aftermarket one and put my oem in the house

I had a reproduction one that was done phenomenally well with the cavallino that i used before getting an oem one. It was hard to tell the difference without them being side by side.

I do have another oem one for sale on the classifieds.

Cavallino looks great, the gates "one the left one" look like crap.

I would beg to differ. Is it as good as oem? No, but it's better imo than the other aftermarket options and nobody who saw my car asked if it was a conversion.

Meanwhile people happily paid $35k for an eag conversion and ended up with a gate like this. Looks way worse next to oem.

Which one of these is fake? the left one, the gates look out of square, and tapered funny.

Like I said, you couldn't really see the difference UNTIL they were next to eachother. I took the car to multiple ferrari events and not a single person could tell it was a conversion.
