Hello, I am looking for recommendations for a machine shop to rebuild the lower end of my 3500 GTI. The Machinist who I had worked with retired (which is a shame). It would be preferable if they were on the west coast, but not a requirement.

    Thank you,
    John

I have used Hasselgren Engineering in Berkeley, California and have had excellent results.

Paul Hasselgren is very good for overall engine rebuilds, I just talked with him yesterday as we are getting ready to dyno the 5000 GT engine which I rebuilt. Also, Paolo Epifani also in Berkeley is well versed in all things Maserati and 3500 motors. An excellent machinist who I have used on 3 different engine rebuild is John Rankin in Martinez, CA

Chris, keep us posted on the 5000gt results. I've heard of one other having been on the dyno, they make good power!
