There are a handful of teams you can say that about.
Bills, Chargers, Packers, Rams.... (and I'm not sold on the Bills)

I keep telling folks - the 'tush push' - if the Eagles offensive line was so damned great
they wouldn't need to PUSH a player from behind just to squeak out one or two yards.

And I actually LIKE the Eagles, but I don't watch football to see a Rugby play.
Defensive players cannot push one another into the line, so why is the offfense allowed to?

And since I'm off on a tangent, why is DPI always an 'automatic first down'?
    If OPI happens shouldn't that be a Loss-of-down? (I'm half-serious)

Because the NFL is selling offense, not defense. Every rule helps the offense and cripples the defense.[/quote]

Once again, the NFL is thinks offense sells.

If we applied the same rule to offenses on PI that we do to defenses, then offensive PI should be an automatic 4th down. Instead, the offense gets the down over, 10 yards back, which is actually rewarding the offense. "You get a second chance to complete the pass that you failed to on this play"

I don't want offense - I want equal fairness on both sides of the ball.
    The defense is largely handcuffed.

The speed of the game has increased - a lot - just in the last 5 years.

And yes, I already know we won't get 'equal fairness'...

You're preaching to the choir. I want fairness on both sides.

I don't like how they are "trying" to make it offense-heavy. The rules are designed to help the offense score as much as possible, yet we still have stinkers and sometimes even the rules aren't enough to help teams score points.

I don't like the fact that sooo many games are decided by penalties.

    Yes exactly.

And on another note, I can't be the only one that has noticed a phantom penalty being called late in games that don't necessarily affect the outcome of the game, but affect the point spread and hence making a difference for bets on the game. That cannot be a coincidence, and it's become more noticeable the last few years when legal gambling entered the equation.

    absolutely!

and a missed FG - BUT - flag on the play. And the re-kick - GOOD!

You know how bad this is?
When a player rips off a LONG play - gets up and immediately looks back for a flag.....

You can call 'holding' on nearly every play, but I think they use that as a convenient call
    to bring a play back....

exactly. Denver won that game, I don't care what the stat sheet says or what the standings say, Denver defeated Indianapolis.

Also true....and not just the player, but also the fans watching on TV wait anxiously for the commentator to finish his sentence, wondering if it will end with "....and there is a penalty marker on the play....."

Once again, also true. It's either a hold or it isn't.

Another thing they use to their convenience is the catch on replay. I've seen the identical catch in two different games on the same day, both reviewed, one is called a catch and one is not. I suppose it depends on how much money is on the game, and how that catch will affect the result....just like whether a hold is a hold or not.

Lastly, the one thing I am SICK of hearing during EVERY college game is:

'(insert any name here) - Transfer in from XYZ University this year'
