There are at least two additional very very heavy hitters also based in Switzerland. One is high-end watchmaker Richard Mille whose budget is unlimited.
Then there is a seriously big boy in Belgium (MV) with an incredible Ferrari automobilia collection. CvS in Germany is a dealer, consigner and seller, not a buyer.
Separately I would like to remind people of post 167.

For clarity: my only experience is with Ni-Cola, not with the other Ladenburg auction house. As a rather small buyer and seller there, no complaints at all about communication. They even called me just to verify a single smallish aftersale purchase I wanted to make. In that sense, I've never felt treated any worse than their top-money clients. For me, it's just the quality of shipping versus the cost of shipping that has not always been well balanced in my experience.

Like most auction houses, they sometimes underpresent items a bit in terms of description and/or photos, especially in multi-item lots. As a buyer I've not been let down by that. It's a bit of a surprise gift upon receiving, but in my experience the selection of items they show are selected on an average/random basis rather than cherry picking the best of the lot. When I think I buy a collection of 100 cut-out magazine articles and I receive 90 articles and 10 magazine posters, I do not complain.

I have purchased many items from both Ni-Cola and Marcel Siedel over the years. I always get my items well packed and in great shape.

This makes me hopeful that my future packages will arrive in good shape as well.

Today everything arrived in good order, well packaged. One of the "mystery contents" combined lots had some nice surprises. So overall I'm happy with my purchase.

I just think it should not cost nearly 60 euro to send a 40x30x20cm box of less than 2kg to a neighbouring EU country.

Easy money still seems to be around - here are three results from this morning's Automobilia Ladenburg auction (including buyers' premiums):

10,100 euros for "Rivals" Tank Edition
(with heavy marks on the book cover, one missing Schedoni bag and no mention in the lot description and on the photo of the text book; my enquiry whether the text book was missing wasn't answered)

2,400 euros for GT0/64 Uber leather edition

3,700 euros for the red leatherbound LaFerrari owners book

Meanwhile, I bought "Ferrari 25 years of calendar images" for € 1.5 at a local sale. A heavily worn library edition, but still.

The very sensitive leather of 'Rivals' was unfortunately badly treated. When the set was published buyers had the option of a red (reference to Ferrari) or green (Aston Martin) Schedoni carrying bag. You may refer to a green dust bag by Schedoni, which was as far as I know never supplied, but was shown here: https://www.brilldesign.co.uk/album/book-design.html?p=1

Indeed no mention of the paperback, text-only additional volume, or the silver container for the 3 prints, or the letter from the publisher that was included. The first few buyers were invited for a dinner with some of the protagonists in London, hence the signed menu.

I got my package a few days ago from Marcel's last auction. Always very well packed. I bought several important photographs and some documents. Lots of the items I was watching went for INCREDIBLE $. I love to watch these auctions, it is A LOT of fun to watch and even more fun to win some auctions.

They somehow ended up in my mailbox a while ago, no idea how. I asdumed they were related to Ferrarichat, but apparently not?

I got an email too. I had bought some Lamborghini material from him but not via an auction, so assume it was that way. It all went OK.

    24 percent buyer's premium ... Puh!

And if shipped to EU 7 to 19 percent VAT, depending on the item.

I looked at several items with in my opinion very high minimum bids. Add the fees and taxes mentioned above and it really becomes over the top expensive.

I just looked at the closing bids for this sale, which I have linked below. The results are not very good, with many lots not getting any bids at all. Overall, it is perhaps not as bad as Horton Book's Collecting Automobilia / Hammer Down results from a few years ago, but still pretty bad. I doubt this company has Marcel at Automobilia Ladenburg or Tobias at Nicola worried for their future...
