Hard to believe gtd is more civilized than ZR1 but it should do it all at that price

I am not a Mustang hater in fact I just bought a 2025 Mustang GT.

But I don’t get paying $350,000 to $400,000 for a hopped up Mustang?

    Can someone help me understand?

Car and Driver tested the car (online)
C&D's GTD weighed 4,404 pounds (wet).
Did Ford hire the Maserati MC20 engineers?

    Yeah...I found their comments rather odd...like anyone is DD'ing a rare/$350K Mustang.

I guess majority buyers fall into YouTube influencers who have it as part of their business and long term investors who will keep in garage waiting for it to appreciate which it will like other Ford limited edition supercars. Very few people will use it like a gt3rs and drive it on track 10/yr. 4400 pounds makes it hard for gtd last long doing that. Lots people have gt3 as only sports car but I bet gtd owners all have multiple other sports cars

Big difference between a GT3 and a GT3RS for anything approaching daily use.
I can't imagine anyone driving a GT3RS much (other than track)

For that money I'd buy a Z06 + 992 Cup or ZR1 + 718 Clubsport. I'd go Z06 because 'epic' sound and it's fast enough for the street, and you get a better racecar for the track. (You could take this in a lot of directions but I was sticking to the Mustang vs. Corvette theme).
