I hope whoever bought this did their due diligence... I had a look at this car when Richmonds had it for sale. Some big rust issues along the A pillar and around the windscreen. Underneath was covered in that black goop that is supposed to stop rust but it's more like encase the rust... Was well overdue for a major service. How on Earth that qualifies as Classiche is beyond me. Looks great in the photos I guess!!!!

I’m guessing it wasn’t “classiche-d” when you saw it @Tommy Cavallino? Is the timeframe between you seeing it and it coming on the market a reasonable time for the works to be done?

I don’t have a dog in this fight, and new to the Ferrari-verse, just wondering and interested if any credence can be put in the whole Classiche caché. ;)

it was Classiche-d in the Uk before being imported here. Pretty sure the car was never repaired as it was always for sale at Richmond’s before being tossed up on collecting cars a couple of weeks ago. I saw it a couple of months ago.

This is when it was sold in the Uk: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13775064

So in summary, someone bought a Ferrari that had spent all its life in the UK, imported it here 12 months ago, shat themselves when they put it on a hoist and saw all the rust, so flogged it through an online auction house. Welcome to the world of Ferrari level pain :D

Well then, that answers that. o_O

Thanks for the info @Tommy Cavallino. Seems Classiche is yet another case of don’t believe the hype.

Ferrari Classiche is basically about authenticity and not about condition

Well that one is a pass but don’t let the UK thing put you off. Buy on condition. I’ve had 4 UK delivered Ferraris with no rust issues. Here’s a pic of the underneath of my 575 taken last week, it was imported here when it was 10 years old. It’s dirty because it gets used frequently and on all types of road surfaces but has no corrosion
