    Hi guys,

I'm due my first major service on the 348, and was wondering if we had a sort of 'master list' of all the usual stuff that should be done whilst doing the cambelt? So far I've got....

    cambelt itself
    water pump
    tensioner bearing
seals for parts that need to be removed

Also, with regards to genuine vs aftermarket, is it preferable to use the Hill Engineering tensioner bearing..? i.e. https://www.hillengineering.co.uk/engine-related/tensioner-bearings-related/pt-348

Feel free to add/remove/expand on this list and hopefully we can end up with a sticky thread for future owners. FYI, I'm UK based.

Camshaft seals and cam cover gasket . They inevitably weep / leak .
Clean the rads particularly the front lower where debris accumulates .
Coolant hoses themselves……? Check the history see how old .
    Fuel filters .
Spark plugs especially if they are not iridium’s .Iridium’s make a marked noticeable improvement all round esp at the bottom end .
    Accessory belts .

Additionally ( not necessarily an engine out jobbie ) drop the fuel pumps and check / replace the rubber that inevitably perishes and give rises to spurious fuel starvation issues . This is not if but when .Again read through its history to see if it’s ever been done .

What year? How many miles? Any previous records of service?

I'll bring up the TSB10-34 bearing because low mile early cars are still out there with the failure bearing.

    chain tensioner/plastic sliders.

    the TSB:

    Sorry, should have added that.

    1992
    34k miles
Lots of cambelts and gaskets on 3 yearly servicing, and usual body work/interior maintenance. Can't see any evidence of water/fuel pumps being done.

Check your engine number then. I can't remember where the cutoff is.

My 89 was a 21k mile car 8 years ago and I did everything, because I had no records.

Also remember, they're 35 years old. A new "zero" point might be worthwhile.

    Adjust the valves.
    Drill the oil drain holes.
Coolant hose and fitting in the middle of the V.
Consider a relay for the starter circuit
Rebuild your alternator (or you will arrive to Stoogefest on a tow truck).
