I was just looking at my customization plaque on my 2023 812 GTS, and I noticed something odd. An option for Advanced Front Driving Camera (FCAM).

I don't have any front camera on my car, I didn't spec it, but I do note that it shows up in my spreadsheet I put together when I spec'd and priced all the options as a $0 option.

I checked the front grill, and there is no central camera as is visible on some cars. I do notice a round aperture in my rearview mirror assembly, but I dont know what function this serves. Also of note, I didnt spec any optional driver aids at all on my car, so no assist sensors other than those required by law (like rear camera).

Does anyone know what this $0 option and what it does. Pics attached.

Can anyone with a US spec 812 GTS check if they too have FCAM on their options sheet, and if they do or don't have a camera on their front bumper?

Just want to understand what the option is and if my car is somehow missing the camera even thought the option is listed.

Damn, so I have an option on my spec sheet that never got installed? Does that even make sense?

FCAM is for ADAS functions, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Departure. FCAM camera is mounted in the windshield. PAC1 is for Rear parking Camera, PAC2 is for Front Parking.

Ahhh, that's what I was trying to find out. There is a circle in the windshield by the rear mirror. I hoped that was the front camera. I almost always use Waze connected through CarPlay so I don't get any traffic sign info, and I don't have lane departure in my car. So not sure when I ever get to see the fcam in use...

But glad to hear it's not the central bumper camera that many cars have.

    thank you

If you have FCAM option, you should see traffic sign info. Not sure of connection thru Waze, but I see it the dash. See the red 65 by the speedo. Image Unavailable, Please Login

That's interesting. I have never seen that icon. I also don't have the lane assist icon on the bottom. Is it possible that because I didn't spec ADAS, the FCAM is a completely useless feature, that was allowed to be selected as a zero cost option, and was installed, but has no functionality as its not paired with ADAS?
