Charles might want to give Toto a bit of a listen!

--Max Verstappen’s manager, Raymond Vermeulen, has revealed that the Dutch superstar isn’t the only name on Mercedes’ radar as the team continues to weigh its long-term future.

According to Vermeulen, Toto Wolff has also been in touch with Ferrari ace Charles Leclerc, suggesting the Silver Arrows are keeping several options alive.--

    No. He’s not consistent.
Carlos was better driver imo and look at how he’s wasting away by picking the wrong team.

If Ferrari doesn't have an outstanding car in 2026 (it wont), 2027 is when Leclerc should find himself in another seat. Plant the seed with Toto NOW, Russell wants a much longer contract and is stalling. Sign a pre contract with Toto for 2027 so that Toto has a serious option if Russell doesn't budge.

I can see that happening....hopefully soon with Leclerc and Toto to get the ball rolling.

It's more having to do with Leclerc's heart. He is in love with Scuderia....but unfortunately, that love wanes and he has to think about himself and a WDC title.

Ironically, he would have had a legitimate shot at the title if he stayed with Ferrari through 2018. Vettel threw that one away.

    That's exactly my opinion.
2026 may reveal that Leclerc is in The Last Chance Saloon . :(

I'm not sure if Aston will be the best option. Alonso as said that 2026 will probably be his last year, and by then, Newy's magic migt start to work!....if they're serious about a championship, they need a Charles , an Oscar or Max.

Newey's magic doesn't extend to the powertrain--the question is which manufacturer will get it right?

The team with good aero, PU and tyre understanding with drivers able to manage the energy recovery and adapt will win. Those with missing elements in that formula will be less successful. Assuming reliability is good as well.

Smart money is on Mercedes. EVERY powertrain rewrite since ILMOR they got it right. Even the V8 era where teams had about as much freedom as a prisoner in a North Korean prison camp they managed to make the best package as a whole, with drivability, power, fuel consumption and reliability making it the strongest package.

Advice to Fernando: Forever erase the words "GP2 engine" from your vocabulary.
