Just received my signed copy today - I did not yet read it; the unusual size is not convenient for any library but is an advantage for the pictures... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

If you are quick, the books 'Racing through Europe' and 'Fit for a King' can be purchased at a reduced price at the 'Racing Web Shop
Did you remove another post Sven? I saw that you wrote 'They have been reduced for a quite a time now' but I don't think so. I received the email with the offer yesterday.
That's why I removed my post "Racing through Europe" had been reduced before indeed, but not that much.
It's available already. I ordered it today at Racing Web Shop in Germany, and it has been shipped immediately.
Yes, it was printed in Hungary and the EU and UK were to receive their quotas first. I understand the US remainder will be coming by ship soon. I hope you like it.
As Racing Web Shop / DHL delivered "The Ferrari under the bed" in less than 24 hours, I already had time to browse through the book several times and read some parts of it yesterday and today. Therefore, I would like to share some first, preliminary impressions with you, as I can imagine a number of you are waiting for opinions on this brand-new book. Image Unavailable, Please Login Darrell Westfaul's work, published by Dalton Watson with generous support of German billionaire and current s/n 0046M owner Andreas Pohl is an incredibly comprehensive and detailed account of just one single car: the 1950 Ferrari 166 MM. It is astonishing how many period pictures and documents of the 75-year history of the car have been sourced by Westfaul, who owned the car for 40 years. Image Unavailable, Please Login The book starts with a chapter about the acquisition of the Ferrari and its engine (which actually was stored under a bed in a disassembled state) by Westfaul in 1965. It is followed by a chapter about the hunt for a fitting transmission and a chapter by Westfaul's research on the car's history. Then, he tells the story of the car chronologically along the different ownerships in one chapter for each owner. By the way: First owner has been no-one less than Giuseppe 'Nuccio' Bertone, a fact that provides a vast source of wonderful images as Bertone raced the car regularly. Image Unavailable, Please Login If you choose a critical perspective, you could say that the writing is a little bit amateurish and that the book would have benefitted from engaging support of a professional writer or editor. But you can also put it positively: It is very authentic! The design (graphic layout) is very basic and simple. But hey: It's the catching story of the car's history and the many wonderful pictures and documents who run the story. These have been reproduced very well. Image Unavailable, Please Login Taking everything into account, I would say that this is a fine book for people who like the Ferrari 166 cars or who take joy in reading single-car histories including accounts of its restorations and modifications. As far as the price of the book is concerned I would say that in view of its size and production quality and the fact that the current owner supported the publication it is rather not a bargain at 118 euros here in Europe and 125 USD in the U.S. But if you like the story and the sourced material, then it is worth it. I will definitely keep it in my collection. Image Unavailable, Please Login
One small clarification to my review: In 1965 (August), Westfaul bought just the disassambled engine, and almost one year later (July 1966) from a separate owner the whole car (which had a Chevy V8 engine implanted).
