In the US it seems there are 35 on the market plus any cars that the dealers aren’t advertising. Prices start at $529k and up. Every spec you could want within reason seems to be immediately available, and the cars are just sitting. source cars.com
My poursangue arrived at dealer today and they sent me the sticker on the car and it was 600,000 dollars it was supposed to be a 526,000 build but with tariffs and they jumped the base price 30,000 which was supposed to be one of the last to get original base sticker. So the car is above what was told to me and the cars are roughly losing 100,000 when drive off the lot. Talked to two good friends that own Ferrari dealerships and they told me that it was losing 50,000 when drive of the lot in Canada and 100,000 in US!!! So my Dilemma is do I take car or not? Tired of playing these games to get the cars I want!!! I also have taken ever Ferrari I have order to GT4 LUSSOS and FF to get what I want!! I have lost millions paying this game!!! But I feel horrible no to take the car!
That was the same as me, mine went up about $80,000. I made a deal with the dealer for some other cars otherwise I was going to walk. You can buy them pre-owned with no miles back of sticker all day, they will probably settle in around $400,000 within a year or so. They just aren't worth the type of money they are asking, not even close.
And what interesting cars do you hope will be coming soon? Because apart from the 12 C VS, I don't consider anything interesting.
this, there arent't that many cars in the future that will make you your money back from the losses imo so unless you're getting an Icona or something i'd walk away
Not too late to start playing Porsche's game instead. They still have a GT2 RS and a hypercar - not Mission X - coming...
Saw two today in city traffic. Unimpressed and looks more like the Mazda and little Cupra. Did sound nice though!
This is kind of funny. I sure hope they sweetened the pot somehow for you. I was out unless they did something special.
hmmm not really, there are some VS cars I’ll probably want in the next couple of years, so cancelling the PS would definitely be the end. I think with the explosion in values we have seen (in Ferraris generally) over the last 6 months, I actually don’t think the downside on the PS is as much as it was a year ago. My dealer claims they are selling cars over list.
I've seen a few on the road now and been suprised at how dull they look, they really don't seem to turn-heads like a ferrari traditionally does also (perhaps not a bad thing for a daily driver)
I was able to trade 2 Challenge cars for decent value and also get a 296 Piloti (working on an Aperta). They bought the Puro back including all fees but I had to take a 296GTS for a few months.
. I don't think I've seen one sell under sticker yet, they appear to move quick here in my neck of the woods.
That is actually an appeal to me, since we plan to use quite a bit for trips and DD. I know there are some who love the looks of the FF/Lusso. But to me, it is an unfortunate looking car from most angles. My wife refused to get one because she thought they were ugly. My argument was that it is a truly functional DD with a V-12 and when inside, it is all Ferrari! She disagreed. If I recall correctly, those who bought the car to use, loved it in spite of the depreciation hit which seems to be worse on 4 passenger cars. IIRC, there were a few threads about epic adventures in the FF… Regarding depreciation, if a car is purchased and is appreciating - particularly if low mileage - it tends to be viewed more as art/investment. If it depreciates, might as well drive it! Also, time is a factor. A depreciation hit is not so terrible after enjoying the vehicle for 6 or 8 years. The same hit after it sits in the garage for 6 weeks/months is more difficult to swallow! In the end, depreciation is a known variable which one should factor into the purchase which is what many here are doing. For some, the juice (enjoyment) is not worth the squeeze (depreciation). For others, it is. And that is what this thread is about!
Good perspective. I’m excited to drive my Puro between 5k and 8k miles per year. I’m certain the car will depreciate considerably and thus I will have to pay money to drive the car. Seems pretty standard, just larger numbers…
Good points - the “silent” design appeals to me as DD car. I intend to put 30000 km/year on PS, as I did with the GTCs. Daily enjoyment of a natural 12 cylinder is a real value to me and the family…..having said this, it comes with a price of an appropriate depreciation, I think
