The Fiat tool will not fit the Ferrari 2V, the shims are the same but the geometry of the lifter and cam is completely different (confirmed on my son's 1978 Fiat 124). I made a tool similar to the second photo which worked for me but I have a mill and lathe.

I used an X1/9 tool on mine, with some fidgeting. I was able to modify one my 124 tools, but I forget how - and then it wouldn't work on the 124.

I have an X1/9 so I don’t want to mess that one up. I will order the tool before I open it up agin. It’s pretty nasty in there. I need to pull the motor. I have a 3rd gear synchro that is getting weak. I will need to take care of that and do a bunch of cleaning and restoring. This fall and spring I am going to drive the wheels off it.
