For your consideration is this spectacular condition and well maintained, with receipts, 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi. This 308 has a clean title and accident-free CarFax. The cam belt service was just performed in June of 2024 at Ferrari. The engine and transaxle were professionally rebuilt in 2016, 3,000 miles ago, to the tune of $34,000! This 308 runs and drives excellently. Cosmetically this 308 is impressive inside and out with the freshly paint corrected red finish presenting nearly perfectly. This is the perfect entry into Ferrari ownership to experience Italian exotic driving passion, rolling art, and an example that is well sorted.

    Exterior:

This Ferrari 308 presents as a near perfect car from about 5 feet away. The two tone red and black paint scheme is an original Ferrari paint scheme for the era which mimics the Berlinetta Boxer. The red finish presents as almost flawless. It is glossy, vibrant, and matches on all panels. The black painted areas are also in great condition. The finish was just paint corrected and sealed in July 2025. The body is straight and solid. There are no dings or dents to note other than the front driver side of the valence has a minor dent. The body and paint as a whole really are impressive. The extensive photos and video footage helps show how glossy it is and how well it presents. It is a forty four year old vehicle so there are some limited aspects of patina here and there but the car as a whole is impressive and has the presentation that a clean Ferrari should.

    Interior:

The interior on this 308 also presents impressively. The leather on the seats has been replaced in the past ten years and remains in excellent shape with no notable defects. The remainder of the leather (dash, door panels, etc.) are also in excellent condition. A very small split is present at the top of the gauge pod leather behind the top of the steering wheel and the door panel edges show some typical and very minor patina. The gauges are in nice shape. The carpet throughout is very nice. The original floormats are in impressive condition. New floormats are included to protect the original ones. The headliner and other materials are in nice condition. Switch gear and other items are in very nice shape. The interiors on these 308s are comfortable and high quality places to be. The condition is in what would be expected on a nice 308.

    Mechanically:

This 308 offers exceptional value with how well sorted it is mechanically and with significant recent maintenance being performed. Most important items to point out include the timing belt service being performed by Ferrari in July of 2024 and an engine rebuild (head work) and transaxle rebuild being performed by Scuderia Rampante in 2016 at 46,000 miles. This is a hop in and go example that drives dependably. It does not even leave a drip on the ground! The 2nd gear does NOT grind even when cold like it does on most of this generation of Ferraris. Please see the provided video with driving footage showing how lovely this 308 drives and sounds. Most of the recent maintenance was performed at Ferrari of Denver with the engine rebuild being performed by Scuderia Rampante. Examples of receipts include:

–September 2024: New radiator fan and motor

–July 2024: Timing belt service performed (belts, tensioners, fuel filter, air filter, etc.), new fuse box, new brake fluid, new coolant, new spark plugs, new oil, new gear oil, flasher relay (49,067 mi)

–November 2023: New brake pads, new brake rotors, front brake calipers rebuilt, parking brake adjusted (48,937 mi)

    –March 2019: Radiator repaired

–August 2018: New reproduction Michelin TRX-B 220/55VR390 metric tires (47,379 mi)

–October 2016: Scuderia Rampante engine rebuild (heads rebuilt, new valves, new guides, new seals, new head gaskets, injectors cleaned and tested and various replaced, electrical connections upgraded, new oil cooler hoses, refinished intake plenum, replaced starter solenoid, and transmission rebuild (new syncros, new 1st gear, new bearings, updated shift gate, etc.) $34,267!!! (46,780 mi)

–August 2011: New alternator, new voltage regulator, new belt (45,860 mi)

–August 2009: New CV axle boots, axles cleaned and regreased (45,310 mi)

–September 2007: Fuel injection system adjusted

    Conclusion:

This Ferrari 308 GTSi is an absolute pleasure to drive. It offers a driving and ownership experience beyond what current values are. These cars ride quite comfortably, make all the right sounds with its V8 engine behind your head, have all the right touches with the snick-snick of the gated shifter and comfortable leather on the OEM Nardi steering wheel, and very importantly have stunning looks. These are truly rolling pieces of art designed by Fioravanti at Pininfarina. The exterior cosmetic, interior cosmetic, and mechanical condition of this 308 add together to make it a total package. The receipts for the very recent timing belt service and engine/transmission rebuild add even further value. This is a well sorted 308.

This is my personal vehicle. I am looking to sell outright but could consider working out a trade for other exotics (ex: F430, 360 manual, Gallardo manual). Located in Sussex, WI 53089.
