I think Max just like a challenge in the so-called traditional motorsports that are available given his F1 schedule. He loves to race anytime, anywhere and in any motorsport contraption. He'll do 24hours at Nurburgring and when he has time, he'll do 24hours at LeMans in the TOP CLASS category like LMP1 or Hypercar class.....Have mercy on anyone else and his team-mates IF he joins. The pressure he adds makes everyone around him step it up a couple of notches. Max is always on his a-game when on the track.
I also think it's fair to say that "Max has never stepped outside of RedBull and he only wins in a RedBull car"......which is far from the truth. Max started his Nurburgring stint taking the lead going into T1. In his 2hr stint, he managed a 1min 10sec lead before handing the Ferrari GT3 to Lulham for the 2nd part of the 2hr stint.
This is the first time in 50 years that a driver won the nurburgring in top class on his debut. 50 years!
I enjoyed watching Max drive the Acura ARX-06 LMDh and share his thoughts on the experience. I wish Honda would have entered that car into WEC years ago and have Max race it.
Lulham experience more yellow flags and "Code 60" infractions during his stint. Code 60 situations at the Nurburgring is a temporary speed restriction to 60 kmph (37mph) enforced by the marshalls due to an incident, debris on the track, or recovery work. Image Unavailable, Please Login
