Is the black vertical stripe on the 849 an homage to the 1984 Testarossa side vent?

I sort of get the idea that the black trim design motif is a deliberate way of making the design more complicated. It’s a bolder and less subtle design strategy.

It’s meant to fight against the past, and fight against tradition. It’s not surprising that some will dislike the new designs.

Paired with the large price escalation and tariffs , it’s an even riskier gamble

For you it’s baffling that people can disagree after seeing the same YouTube clips and Instagram angles you did but you’ve got no issue brushing off someone who actually stood next to the car, circled it for hours, and saw the details your pixels can’t capture. Makes total sense, why bother with reality.

Don’t you think the intelligent thing to do is take some advice onboard from first hand encounters provide a touch more credibility and reserve some judgment? Not trying to convince you this is a good-looking car but rather that ignoring firsthand experience in favour of screenshots doesn’t exactly scream insight and critical thinking.

Anyway the last question was rhetorical there is no need for us to converse any further, enjoy whatever you find attractive buy whatever you like.

So you do kind of have to see it in person at least according to this guy

To answer the original question, I don't see how that stripe has anything to do with the Testarossa. In fact, there is nothing I've seen in the videos or photos that would help me make the connection. Quite frankly, I don't know why they are calling it a Testarossa. IMO, this looks like it's own model and should have been marketed that way.

    F840 ?

8 for number of ‘Cilindri’. And 4.0 for the total engine displacement which is 3.99 or 4.0 if one recognizes generally accepted principles in rounding numbers

Perhaps a more accurate and easier to remember name. Rolls off the tongue much better than 849!

Will do and no need to try to lock horns over this. There's also no need to try to convince someone who clearly knows he doesn't like this to see it in person and that it will possibly change my mind. I guarantee it won't. Zero chance on that. It's again fairly easy to get eons better understanding of the intricacies of cars or whatever else through reviews and online videos and so forth. Yes not the same as in person but if I don't like the way it looks it's clear to me. And that's not lacking insight or critical thinking. Again, no need for intensity on this here. Same thing goes for how these cars sound. You can easily hear how muted some of them are, even with imperfect sound. Not the same in person but if it sounds crappy or like a vacuum cleaner on the computer, I guarantee I'm not going to be wowed in person.

Absolutely correct yet again. It is 100% absurd to reference that and is such a non-icon. It's a simple way to make a young naive buyer say they are getting into a Testarossa, like the original model and persuade them that it is some ultra-special heritage connection to the brand. It's really laughable.

Nobody is trying to convince you of anything, I am merely pointing why you are wrong in assuming that you get the whole design intent from photos, anyway enjoy.

certainly looks absolutely awful in his video

I've never heard him say anything negative about the styling of any cars tbh
