I was recently offered a 296 Speciale after purchasing a pista last week. I also own an 812 GTS. I am beyond in love with the Pista drive and don’t recall loving it this much in the Pista spider I previously owned. Would any of you consider flipping the Pista for the 296 speciale? Obv no one has driven it yet so hard to gauge at this point but just curious given how much people love the 296 drive and the speciale should be significantly stepped up.

i did the Corsa Pilota at Sonoma a few weeks ago. The regular 296 is an absolute Rockstar. i was blown away by the acceleration and grip. i was taking turns faster than i ever thought i would. and when going for a ride with one of the pros in that same street car, i was even more blown away. and and and..................the most important..........the car may be a hybrid, but if you did not know that you wouldn't be able to tell. youd just think its the best most responsive TT V6 you have ever experienced. it drives like an ICE car, sounds like one, and certainly drinks fuel like one. i can almost guarantee these hybrids will soon catch on and do just fine.

.......and I still don't fit in a 296 with regular seats... too tall LOL... I don't think race seats will lower and put me far enough back for long legs and torso. I've read exactly what you typed... 296 street or track is amazing. Even Misha was really impressed driving the 296 at speed on the Nurburgring

I’m doing corsa pilota next month at Leguna Seca and was hoping maybe there would be a speciale but I know that’s highly unlikely. I’ve spent a lot of time with the SF90 but never the 296. Excited to really check it out. Everyone’s raves about the drive.

cabin is tiny!!!............even worse than the driver is the passenger side. I was basically with my knees almost at the dash. found that to be a bit of an odd design flaw, and noticed it as well. The spiders are even worse, the seats are pushed up a little more from what i understand to accommodate the roof mechanism.

I did all 3 Porsche schools back in 2006-07 at Barber and learned a lot and excelled fast in my driving skills after that doing track days around the south. It flung me right into a deep dive into track and autocross for the following 15yrs.

I wanted to move into racing but not enough money to fully realize that dream and at that time all cars had to be manual and I can't push a clutch with a prosthetic leg...however there were some possible work arounds but it was really money that held me to just track days. You are going to have an absolute blast and become a better driver. Enjoy!

Suggest doing a test drive of the 296 from your local dealer. That way you'll be able to compare. The 296 is a MUCH sharper tool than the Pista. Pista is one of the most beautiful modern Ferraris. Sound wise, both sound good. Pistas have recently spiked in value so if you do decide to sell it, you'll come out ahead.

I think only 1% of skilled drivers could actually benefit from it on the track and realize better lap times, and i think otherwise 99% of people will order it, want it, or think they need it for other reasons. What about you @Ramih84 what do you think about it?

Thankfully i'm one of the 1% right?! Lol

I like the package, but I get why most rather have a front lift and save on the extra costs of it, personally I love the looks overall better, all the extra carbon, better suspension setup and exhaust note.

Yeah I Willl for sure. I was at Leguna Seca watching the races yesterday and that track is bananas. I’ve never been. People complain about the esthetic of the 296 or the V6 or the fact that it’s hybrid, but one thing you never hear anyone complain about is how incredible it drives. Excited to check it out.

PS- Drove the new pista to and from LA. My God is that car an utter blast and a serious head turner. Almost forgot how incredible it is. My first time at car week and I would have preferred a bit less photos/video attention but I guess it comes with the territory. Ha people really go nuts. Very fun experience overall….

Also saw this which was pretty mind blowing. Was told by a very serious dealer its a $100M car
