Indeed, have heard that before too Mike. Pitty I was not aware of this 2 years ago, payed $ 1000 for this repair ... Can you publish both the F and the M numbers here please + prices? Did you install the bearing yourself... it is not much work ...> the 4 screws work fine ... Does anybody know if that is also possible for the front bearings 512TR ?

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I have to replace the right side rear wheel bearing on my 512TR. What is meant by "the 4 screws"? Are there any special tools needed or hints/procedures that make this repair easier?
A Maserati 185564 rear wheel bearing is NOT the same as the Ferrari (SKF) 157901. The Ferrari bearing is now listed for $1700 before shipping. Oh yeah, add another 10% for the tariff (+$170).
I ordered a Maserati 4200 bearing (185564). I have it. It is NOT the same as the 512TR PN 157901. And I was wrong about the price. That was for the half shaft. The bearing with shipping and tariffs was $1383.16 from TRutlands in Atlanta. I'll post a pic later today.
The bearing is made by SKF. SKF has been making bearings since 1907 and they have plants in Canada and Mexico. So basically Ferrari imports the bearings to Italy (with accompanying tariffs, taxes and shiping fees), slaps a prancing horse decal on the box and sells/ships them back here again with US taxes, tariffs and shipping costs. Every step raises the price of the bearing considerably, even more if purchased through TRutlands or Ricambi, all of whom need to make a profit. If we could somehow get these bearings directly from SKF I wonder how cheap they would be? I'm guessing $200-300.
