    Can anyone help me with how the firewall cover shown in the photos is fitted / removed?
    As you can see from the photo, it has come away from the firewall and I want to fix it back, but the previous owner has sprayed it with thick black paint, so the screws are really stuck...
    I guess I'll drill the screws out, but could do with knowing what they should screw into - is it directly into the firewall, or are there some brackets hidden somewhere?
    1984 Mondial QV - UK spec.

    I can see it definitely should be flush to the weather strip, and I think I can see rivets as opposed to cross head screws, but otherwise it looks about right. Just need to get the cover to stay in place without dropping back down....
